I would definitely recommend this institution to everyone who is serious about their education. Miss Parkes is a wonderful teacher, she is caring and very passionate about sending out competent healthcare professionals. She is a very strict teacher, especially when assignments are not completed at the given time. At the same time, she is very kind, honest and trustworthy....very organized. Warm friendly staff member, respectful and polite. Clean and quiet environment that set the tone for learning. This school exceeded my expectations! No regrets!
Same suh!
I highly recommend IAH. Money well spent and Miss Parkes is dedicated and goes all out for her students. And she sincerely cares and pushes you to be better.

📌What Is Cervical Cancer?
Cervical cancer is cancer that starts in the cells of the cervix. The cervix is the lower, narrow end of the uterus (womb). The cervix connects the uterus to the va**na (birth canal). Cervical cancer usually develops slowly over time.

📍The cervix has two main parts:

The ectocervix (also called exocervix) is the outer part of the cervix that can be seen during a gynecologic exam. The ectocervix is covered with thin, flat cells called squamous cells.

The endocervix is the inner part of the cervix that forms a canal that connects the va**na to the uterus. The endocervix is covered with column-shaped glandular cells that make mucus.

The transformation zone is the border where the endocervix and ectocervix meet. Most cervical cancers begin in the squamous cells in the transformation zone.

📌CAUSE
Anyone with a cervix is at risk for cervical cancer. It occurs most often in people over age 30. Long-lasting infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of cervical cancer. HPV is a common virus that is passed from one person to another during s*x. At least half of s*xually active people will have HPV at some point in their lives, but few women will get cervical cancer.

📌 Symptoms of cervical cancer can include:

Abnormal va**nal bleeding, such as bleeding after va**nal s*x, bleeding after menopause, bleeding and spotting between periods, or having (menstrual) periods that are longer or heavier than usual. Bleeding after douching may also occur.

An unusual discharge from the va**na which may contain some blood and/or occur between your periods or after menopause.

Pain during s*x

Pain in the pelvic region

Itching or burning sensations in the va**na

Low back or abdominal pain

Unexplained fatigue

Frequent or urgent urination

Abdominal bloating

Swelling of the legs..

📌Prevention

Ask your doctor about the HPV vaccine.

Have routine Pap tests.

Practice safe s*x. Reduce your the number of s*xual partners you have.

Don't smoke.

📌 is a chronic (long-lasting) health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy.

📌Your body breaks down most of the food you eat into sugar (glucose) and releases it into your bloodstream. When your blood sugar goes up, it signals your pancreas to release insulin. Insulin acts like a key to let the blood sugar into your body’s cells for use as energy.

📌With diabetes, your body doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use it as well as it should. When there isn’t enough insulin or cells stop responding to insulin, too much blood sugar stays in your bloodstream. Over time, that can cause serious health problems, such as heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease.

📍There isn’t a cure yet for diabetes, but losing weight, eating healthy food, and being active can really help. Other things you can do to help:

▪️Take medicine as prescribed.

▪️Get diabetes self-management education and support.

▪️Make and keep health care appointments.

📍Types of Diabetes
📌Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is thought to be caused by an autoimmune reaction (the body attacks itself by mistake). This reaction stops your body from making insulin. Approximately 5-10% of the people who have diabetes have type 1. Symptoms of type 1 diabetes often develop quickly. It’s usually diagnosed in children, teens, and young adults. If you have type 1 diabetes, you’ll need to take insulin every day to survive. Currently, no one knows how to prevent type 1 diabetes.

📌Type 2 Diabetes
With type 2 diabetes, your body doesn’t use insulin well and can’t keep blood sugar at normal levels. About 90-95% of people with diabetes have type 2. It develops over many years and is usually diagnosed in adults (but more and more in children, teens, and young adults). You may not notice any symptoms, so it’s important to get your blood sugar tested if you’re at risk. Type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed with healthy lifestyle changes, such as:

Losing weight.

Eating healthy food.

Being active.

📌Gestational Diabetes
Gestational diabetes develops in pregnant women who have never had diabetes. If you have gestational diabetes, your baby could be at higher risk for health probl

What is epilepsy? What is a seizure?

📌Epilepsy, which is sometimes called a seizure disorder, is a disorder of the brain. A person is diagnosed with epilepsy when they have had two or more seizures.

▪️A seizure is a short change in normal brain activity.

📌Seizures are the main sign of epilepsy. Some seizures can look like staring spells. Other seizures cause a person to fall, shake, and lose awareness of what’s going on around them.

📌How long do seizures usually last?

Usually, a seizure lasts from a few seconds to a few minutes. It depends on the type of seizure.

📌What are the major types of seizures?

Sometimes it is hard to tell when a person is having a seizure. A person having a seizure may seem confused or look like they are staring at something that isn’t there. Other seizures can cause a person to fall, shake, and become unaware of what’s going on around them.

Seizures are classified into two groups.

▪️Generalized seizures affect both sides of the brain.

▪️Focal seizures affect just one area of the brain. These seizures are also called partial seizures.

A person with epilepsy can have more than one kind of seizure. Read more about types of seizures and what they look like.

📌If I have a seizure, does that mean I have epilepsy?

Not always. Seizures can also happen because of other medical problems. These problems include:

A high fever.

Low blood sugar.

Alcohol or drug withdrawal.

📌What causes epilepsy?

Epilepsy can be caused by different conditions that affect a person’s brain. Some known causes include:

Stroke.

Brain tumor.

Brain infection from parasites (malaria, neurocysticercosis), viruses (influenza, dengue, Zika), and bacteria.

Traumatic brain injury or head injury.

Loss of oxygen to the brain (for example, during birth).

Some genetic disorders (such as Down syndrome).

Other neurologic diseases (such as Alzheimer’s disease).

For 2 in 3 people, the cause of epilepsy is unknown. This type of epilepsy is called cryptogenic or idiopathic

Hormones are chemicals produced by different glands across your body. They travel through the bloodstream, acting as messengers and playing a part in many bodily processes.

One of these important functions? Helping regulate your mood.

Certain hormones are known to help promote positive feelings, including happiness and pleasure.

These “happy hormones” include:

Dopamine: Known as the “feel-good” hormone, dopamine is a neurotransmitter that’s an important part of your brain’s reward system. It’s associated with pleasurable sensations, along with learning, memory, and more.

Serotonin: This hormone and neurotransmitter helps regulate your mood as well as your sleep, appetite, digestion, learning ability, and memory.

Oxytocin: Often called the “love hormone,” oxytocin is essential for childbirth, breastfeeding, and strong parent-child bonding. It can also help promote trust, empathy, and bonding in relationships. Levels generally increase with physical affection.

Endorphins: These hormones are your body’s natural pain reliever, which your body produces in response to stress or discomfort. Levels may also increase when you engage in reward-producing activities such as eating, working out, or having s*x.
