My student Jamaal C did the unimaginable on the links! Coming to me in late March 2022 shooting in the 108-110 range, Jamaal broke 100 and then broke 90 by firing an 84 halfway through his Legend Series golf lesson package. He has practiced and studied hard and watched his premium golf videos produced by me. Jamaal's golf knowledge and iq has skyrocketed and it gives him a strong chance of breaking 80 in the next year. Jamaal transformed his game and is taking home the trophies. So proud of his improvement and his commitment to excellence. It gives me tremendous pleasure and life to watch my students like Jamaal reach and surpass their golfing goals. And They Are Having So Much Fun!!!

Great fun and education watching Minjee Lee, 2022 U.S. Open winner, and the other women on Tuesday at Congressional Country Club practicing and preparing for the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Gotta love the rhythm and flow of these swings. I think Minjee Lee, Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, and Jin Young Ko have the best chance at winning. Was impressed with Brittany Altomare as well. Tournament starts today. Recommend that you attend.

June 5th was a Special Day! My Student Sonnie Broke 80 for the 1st Time by Firing a 79 after just 6 Lessons. Better yet, Sonnie had come to me in 2020 shooting mid 90s and I mentored him to the mid 80s that year after 5 lessons. 20 months later, Sonnie had forgotten his Coach Mike fundamentals, his scores had risen back to 90s plus, and he revisited me for a 2 hour lesson on May 25, 2022. See my May 26, 2022 Instagram post on Sonnie's Comeback Lesson!!! 10 days later on June 5th, Sonnie shot 79, won 1st Place, and sent me the photo and text in the video. Watching our videos, writing down the bullet points, and practicing smart were Sonnie's keys to his own record breaking performance. Sonnie is Having So Much Fun and Ready for Even Better Golf!!! I watched two of Virginia's best amateurs, Michael Brennan and Josh Duangmanee, in the U.S. OPEN sectional qualifier at Woodmont CC on Monday. Michael, a 2nd team All American sophomore at Wake Forest, is from Leesburg and Josh is a rising high school senior from Fairfax and is committed to UVA. Both have huge futures in the game. Josh was low amateur shooting 71/71 and is a 2nd alternate. Michael shot 74/74 and did not qualify. They played with pro Andrew Beckler who qualified with 69/72. Loved watching the pure swings and shotmaking of all three.

FROM POOR FUNDAMENTALS TO PUREING IT IN 2 HOURS!!! Sonnie D took 5 lessons from me in 2020 and reduced his scores from the mid 90s to the mid 80s (See text at end of video- 10 shot improvement). Saw him for the 1st time since August 2020 and he had fallen into some bad habits and his scores had escalated back to the mid 90s. We worked on his posture, path, footwork, compression, distance control, and finish. After 2 hours, he was nutting it and is now ready to shoot in the 80s. Love Sonnie's love for the game of golf and joy for life. Sonnie- you are my man too!

I Receive 'My Lowest Score Ever' Texts All The Time, But Friday Afternoon Was Special. Evan, Dylan, and Clinton shot their lowest scores ever on Friday April 29th and I received their texts in a shotgun fashion that afternoon. Evan had shot 50, 54, and 57 in his high school matches before his introductory lesson last weekend and then went out and shot his 86. Dylan was shooting in the 90s prior to his introductory lesson 2 weeks ago and then fired his 86. Clinton was shooting in the 110s prior to his 9 lessons before firing his 91. GREAT GOING, FELLAS! From 115 to Shooting 91 in 12 Lessons! Brad H, a top dog trainer in DC, learned immense golf knowledge and improved his swing and game to lower his best ever score to 91 and enjoy the game more than ever. 90s Golfer Shoots 79 after 9 Lessons! Scott J has been a Master Student and no one likes the game and competition of golf more than him. A defense specialist, Scott has improved his takeaway, path, compression, release, and finish to lower his scores from the 90s to breaking 80 in less than a year. Scott watched Coach Mike's videos that he made for him and practiced smart to become the golfer he set out to be. He is fun and a good listener who has drastically improved his short game and course management. My Student Tarek Shot an 81 and Hit a 351 Yard Drive after Giving Him 6 Golf Lessons in March. He had been shooting in the high 80s/low 90s prior to our lessons. Tarek has been an excellent student as we've worked on his golf knowledge, course management, alignment, path, flighting the ball, and short game. I expect him to break 80 in the next few rounds and be a single digit handicap in the coming months.

This video of Tiger Woods really shows his arm depth and lag and separation, path to the ball, rotation, squaring of the club at impact, compression, clearing and posting, extension, position of the head, balance, and finish of a well played iron shot. The proper sequence of the body and speed is so important to a shot hit on the sweet spot and directly to the target. I shoot a lot of my student's swings from this position. Happy Birthday Lee! Lee Trevino, 6 time major winner and golfing legend, worked with my 11 year old daughter Lauren in July 2017 at the Greenbrier. It was one of the best days of our sporting lives. Lauren swung it well for him and showed no nerves. He really helped Lauren and we loved talking golf with him in his office and on the practice tee and green. Told him my favorite all time golf was his victory over Nicklaus in Cabo. Lee remembered his worst hole of that round, a par 5 late in the round. He won The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, site of that week's Open, 46 years earlier in 1971. A true gentleman and sportsman, Trevino was incredible. I believe Lee Trevino is the greatest combination of player, sportscaster, and teacher of all time. Only Nicklaus and Byron Nelson come close. Throw in one of the best ballstrikers, wedge players, and competitors as well. Lauren and I were very humbled. Lee's words, sentences, thoughts, and lessons were golden. He is also the best communicator that I have ever met. Lauren would like to work with him again and is very fond of him. .player

Gloria E made an outstanding birdie in her 1st ever playing lesson last week. She's made amazing improvement in the 6 weeks since she started lessons with me. Gloria has lowered her scores through solid fundamentals like better posture, path, and release as well as good listening, course management, watching our videos, and smart practice.
