𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚 is a music teacher, pianist, vocalist, guitarist, and improvisatory musician in Bellingham. She is passionate about collaborating with her students about making music a meaningful part of their lives and enjoys the occasionally very crunchy chord. In the past month, she has started digging into Arabic folk music thanks to Rachel's encouragement and is absolutely loving it!

The performer that I would like to spotlight next is 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐳.
Known as the 'dancers' drummer', David has been playing middle eastern music and drumming for dancers drum solos for many years!
Never seen a drum solo?! You are in for a treat! A drum solo is a completely 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 duet between a drummer and a dancer. Fun, fast and thrilling, this is not an act to miss!

Little known fact - David played for my first live drum solo! He holds a special place in my heart and I am delighted to have him share his talent with you on December 3rd.

I'll be there too! For a couple of special songs, you'll get to see me accompany Morhaf. He will play the oud and I will dance. Live and improvised, I will translate the emotions of the oud through arabic dance.

This evening will be a sparkling evening of raqs sharqi (oriental dance), fusion, and middle eastern folk dance; while our guest Toastmaster will share little bites of history and culture of the music and the dance.

This year's theme is music from around the world. We are happy to have Karim Nagi joining us this year. He will be playing at the Expo Building ,at the fairgrounds, on Saturday Oct. 15th 1pm

Egyptian musician & dancer Karim Nagi, now living in Chicago, performs a unique yet authentic set of dynamic Arab cultural arts. He combines percussion & folkloric dance to invoke his culture, and create connections with his audience. He has recorded 14 albums, has performed on six continents, has a TEDx Talk, and is a Kennedy Center teaching artist.
