“Brenau helped me get my job,” she said. “I got an externship with Northside and my final offer was in labor and delivery, which is a pretty difficult specialty to get in as a new grad.”

The Brenau Board of Trustees names Dr. David Barnett as Brenau's president.

The Board of Trustees has full confidence in President Barnett’s ability to lead the university, its mission and its strategic plan. Having served in various roles at Brenau for 18 years, no one knows this institution better – including the best ways to keep us moving forward – than David Barnett. While the Brenau community knows President Barnett in his former role as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the university, a focus on students has been the underpinning of his career in higher education.

As Brenau celebrates its 145th year, we appreciate President Barnett’s dedication to the university and the leadership he provides as we continue our shared vision for the future.

An event to celebrate President Barnett will be held at a later date; details will be forthcoming.
