School of Rock Midlothian, TX is already making serious noise in Texas š¤šø
In just two months, theyāve welcomed 60+ rockstars in the making, launched high-energy summer camps, and turned DIY t-shirts into the must-have band tee of the season. From day one, this crew hit the ground rockingāwith an enthusiastic team and a culture thatās loud, proud, and totally unstoppable.
Huge shoutout to owners Suzanne and Donald White for bringing the power of performance-based music education to Midlothian!
At School of Rock, our celebration of Pride isnāt confined to just one month; itās built into our culture year-round. š
Rock music has been a lifeline for self-expression, rebellion, and identity. For many in the LGBTQIA2S+ community, itās where their voices were first heard and their truths first shared. From Princeās iconic "I Would Die 4 U" and its gender-defying lyrics to Laura Jane Graceās unapologetic storytelling in "Violence," rock has long amplified q***r experiences, even when the world wasnāt ready to listen.
We are proud to carry that legacy forward by creating inclusive spaces where students feel seen, safe, and celebrated every time they step into a rehearsal room or take the stage.

School of Rock made a major impact at Summerfest in Milwaukee this week, and the talent on display was next level. š¤Æ
600 students. 79 bands. 54 schools. 6 countries. 6 massive stages. Over three unforgettable days, our global community of young musicians delivered non-stop performances that brought crowds to their feet.
The week kicked off with a high-energy welcome event at the iconic The Rave / Eagles Club, where students performed back-to-back sets, competed in our annual Shred Contest (congrats to the winner who took home an epic guitar from DonnerMusic_US!), and joined an exclusive workshop with Eva Gardner, bassist for P!nk. Eva didnāt just talkāshe played alongside our 2025 AllStars, sharing real-world insight and inspiration.
From there, it was two full days of shows across the Summerfest grounds. Between artist experiences with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Bombargo, and Ava Maybee, and an unforgettable moment where five AllStars from the U.S. and Mexico joined the band Eggy on stage for āBennie and the Jets,ā this week was filled with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Eggy even introduced our students as āthe future of music.ā
These students came to Summerfest ready to perform at the highest level, connect with peers from around the world, and represent the very best of School of Rock on one of the biggest stages out there. A special thank you and shout-out to all of the parents, families, School of Rock and Summerfest staff, and our partners at Fender, Roland, and SJC Custom Drums. This experience would not be possible without you all, and thank you for making these students' dreams come to life!

School of Rock Alexandria, School of Rock Columbia, and School of Rock Annapolis brought the heat to Vans Warped Tour D.C. š„šø
Invited by Loyal to the Craft and SJC Custom Drums, our House Bands hit the stage with custom Warped Tour sets and gave it everything they had. From the first note to the last cymbal crash, they delivered high-energy performances that turned heads and pulled in festival crowds.
Steve McKay, owner of School of Rock Alexandria, shared, āWatching our musicians shine on stage, seeing the hard work of our teams come to life, it was magical. Seeing crowds freeze mid-step, completely stunned by who was performing, it was electric and unbelievably heartwarming.ā
The Columbia team added, āWeāre still buzzing. Our students had the chance to perform four sets, take part in Shred Talks with industry pros, connect with fellow School of Rock musicians, and see the artists theyāve looked up to for years. Itāll go down in history as one of our coolest opportunities yet.ā
Weāre so proud of these students for showing up, rocking out, and representing their schools with passion and professionalism. Weāre grateful to Warped Tour, Loyal to the Craft, SJC Drums, and Smartpunk for making this unforgettable experience possible.
School of Rock Vancouver, WA kicked off camp season with a week that left both students and parents feeling inspired āØ
One family shared that āthe instructors were so niceā they were patient, gave breaks, made it fun, and were really clear. Our child learned a lotāit was an awesome week for them! We loved that they learned how to handle and break down equipment. What a unique way to learn both motor skills and gain mastery over something technical. The professionalism was top notch, and teaching to their level was just really, really well done. 10/10 experience.ā
As former band parents themselves, they said the āculture of band dynamics, of youth playing music was a force in our lives that was immensely positive and life changing,ā and they left camp āfeeling very inspired by what the team is doing there.ā
Huge shoutout to the Vancouver team for creating a space where kids learn, grow, and truly feel the power of music. Check out our music camps this summer!

Big things are happening for School of Rock Cherry Hill instructor Matt Hague! š„
When heās not teaching drum lessons, directing shows, or stepping in as Studio Coordinator, youāll find Matt on stage with his band The Callous Daoboys, who just debuted at number six on the Billboard charts for Best New Artist. Their new record is gaining serious momentum... and there's talk of a Recording Academy / GRAMMYs nomination. š
Matt joined our instructor team in June 2023. He brings the passion and performance-based approach he lives on tour into every one-on-one, rehearsal, and live show at School of Rock. Truly rockinā it, both in Cherry Hill and beyond, we're proud to have musicians of this caliber helping shape the next generation of rockers.
School of Rock Shorewood brought the energy to the Pride Parade in Walkerās Point this weekend šš
Shorewood's House Band rotated through a killer setlist of "Born This Way," by Lady Gaga, "I'm Coming Out," by Diana Ross, and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" by Shania Twain, and the crowd did not disappoint. Pride is always one of their favorite gigs of the year because the energy is unmatched, and this time was no different.
After the parade wrapped, their students were still so hyped they kept jamming on the float, entertaining the other floats nearby. One student even said it was their favorite show ever in three years with School of Rock.
We are proud to be part of such a vibrant celebration and even prouder of these students for showing up, rocking out, and spreading joy.
Meet Abdullah and Yazan: two former School of Rock Fayetteville students who just opened for Guns N' Roses in Saudi Arabia. š¤Æ
Their journey started in our rehearsal rooms, where they jammed, learned, and got their first taste of the stage. That spark led to the formation of their band, Gimmix, where they began writing original music and pushing boundaries in Saudi Arabiaās rock scene.
Abdullah dove into studio work, and Yazan took on live sound. Together, they became pillars in their local music community by recording, engineering, performing, and always showing up. Even when they werenāt performing as Gimmix, they were building connections and creating momentum.
"We were always putting ourselves out there. We were working with artists, producers, engineers, recording and mixing their music. Seeking out every opportunity we could to be involved," said Abdullah. "When it comes to our performance, we actively hold ourselves to the highest standard we can reach while striving to present something that is new and different yet authentic to us."
Stories like this remind us why School of Rock existsāto help students find their voice, own the stage, and take their sound as far as it can go.
From our rehearsal rooms to one of NYCās biggest music stages⦠our students rocked The Governors Ball Music Festivall! š

Ever wondered what really happens during a School of Rock lesson? šø
Itās more than just playing a song. Our instructors are trained to guide your childās musical journey with intention, structure, and care, every single week.
Hereās what that looks like:
ā
Check-In
We start by connecting. Our instructors take time to understand how your child is feeling, what they practiced, and where theyāre at mentally and musically. That rapport lays the foundation for a great lesson.
ā
Warm-Ups
Next, we focus on technique-building exercises that get students in the zone. Whether itās vocal control, hand coordination, or rhythm drills, itās all about preparing their brain and their body to play with confidence.
ā
SongFirstĀ® Instruction
This is the heart of the lesson, but itās not just about learning the notes. Our SongFirstĀ® approach means we teach music through real songs, not boring worksheets or monotonous scales. Every song is a gateway into music theory, technique, and stage-ready confidence. Our instructors break down the songās structure, explain key concepts, and connect technique to theory. Students learn the underlying educational elements that make those songs sound so good, and this is when they realize theyāre not just playing music, but that they are musicians.
ā
Wrap-Up
At the end of each lesson, we recap what was learned and assign targeted practice in our Method Appā¢. This is your familyās go-to hub for assigned practice for the week, play-along tools, and tracking your child's progress. The School of Rock Method is our proprietary music education system designed to support every stage of learning, from day one to the big stage. Itās structured, itās flexible, and it works because itās based on how kids actually learn. Every lesson is documented in our system, so instructors can track growth and your child always has a roadmap to move forward.
This is how we turn curiosity into confidence. This is what youāre investing in when your child becomes part of our community.
If you're interested in joining the band or want more information, find a school in your neighborhood and pop in after school to say hi! https://rocki.ng/4jHsVEJ
