At Mount Vernon, we believe that relationships are foundational to learning. We believe that when teachers truly know and understand their studentβs passions and curiosities, incredible things can happen. When students feel confident to voice and express their wants and desires for their own educational experience, teachers are able to facilitate a deeper, more connected learning environment. When students across grade levels are working to design and create healthy snacks for each other; when students work with non-profits to design custom themed wheelchair costumes; or when students work with fortune 500 companies to provide input and direction on market ready prototypes, they are developing real-world skills, based in empathy.
We live in a world of exponential change. Leaning into the future, how might we multiply our influence, drive design and innovation, inspire one another, expand our reach, and deepen our impact? How might we design a better world?
Visit MountVernonSchool.org to see how Mount Vernon students are working to answer those questions everyday.
