It takes a village to raise a child. Weโ€™ve all heard the saying, but what do todayโ€™s parents really think? To find out, we conducted a nationwide survey of 2,000 parents of children six and under. According to the survey, 78% of parents agreed that the definition of a villageโ€” or their community and support systemโ€” is different today than when they were growing up. Other key findings include:

- 81% believe itโ€™s imperative to have a support systemโ€”a villageโ€” when it comes to raising their child.

- 86% say they have a different type of support system today than their own parents did.

- Of those with a child enrolled in school or childcare (74%), 89% say it plays a big role in their village. These parents rely on their childโ€™s school or childcare provider an average of 12 times per month for support.
