This is the OFFICIAL FB page for the LEF - Loudoun County Public Schools Backpack Coalition Program. The LEF - LCPS Backpack Coalition Program is a District approved supplemental program to an existing school's program when funding/or food is not available. Under the guidance of the Office of Outreach, the LEF- LCPS Backpack Coalition Program will also provide start-up support for any school that is in need.
Mission: Loudoun County Public Schools began a new program called the LEF - LCPS Backpack Coalition in support of the existing school programs. Under the guidance of the Office of Outreach, LEF - LCPS is collaborating with 100WomenStrong, Loudoun Education Foundation, Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and our partner, Palmercare Chiropractic to ensure no child goes hungry. The LEF - LCPS Backpack Coalition's goal is to ensure 100 percent of the families that need our support receive food the weekends and extended breaks, allowing children to focus on their studies instead of their growling bellies!

Thank you to the BBFL and Rotary Club of Leesburg Virginia, Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness, Leesburg Daybreak Rotary, Ability Fitness Center, the Interact Club at Heritage High School Parents - Leesburg, VA and the VFW Auxiliary Post 1177.
*Special thanks to Mr. Rusciolelli for helping transport the boxes.
It was our distinct pleasure to gather with more than 50 volunteers from the Rotary Club of Leesburg, Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness, Interact Club of Heritage High School, Leesburg Daybreak Rotary Club, The Ashburn Rotary Club, Ability Fitness Center and VFW Post 1177 to assemble over 18,000 meals during a packing event organized by The Outreach Program. This event, held on November 9th, was so successful, we ran out of gloves and hairnets!
BBFL sponsored and partnered with the Rotary Club of Leesburg to purchase the meals and through everyone’s hard work we were able to pack 83 boxes, each containing 36 bags per box, totaling 3,000 bags, which equates to 18,000 meals.
These meals where then donated to the LEF - Loudoun County Public Schools Backpack Coalition Program and will supplement the backpacks that go home on the weekends, pivotal at any time of the year, but almost more so during the holiday season.
We are so gratified to be able to contribute in this way, and even more so to see that so many people are eager to help. Hunger is often an invisible stressor which can leave lasting emotional scars, and when there are so many people willing to step up and put muscle into the mission, we know our message is reaching you.
In attendance from BBFL was Dan Hampton, Rob Guerra, Lauren Boyle, Keith Korin, and Matt Burns.
Thanks again to all who came out to help. You are making a difference.
