Enshin Karate of Ashburn

Achieve Believe Commit - Boost Confidence - Improve Health - Make New Friends - Boost Self-Esteem - Discipline

Most martial arts schools teach discipline and values. We offer that with the most practical self-defense system available. We offer a system of self-defense that will give you or your child the confidence to stand up for yourself and defend yourself if needed. In our experience, more confidence actually leads to fewer fights because you or your child will no longer be seen as a target. Enshin is a martial art focused on partner training. Not only does this make the system more practical, but it provides a safe place to learn self defense and cooperation.

Mission: Our goal is to create life champions through the positive mental and physical developement achieved through martial arts training.

[01/30/19]   Dear Parents and Students,

We will be open on any snow day within reason. If there is a serious blizzard and the federal government is closed, we will not open. On any other snow day we will open. Doors open at 7:30 AM. Pick up time is the same as after school, which is 6 p.m.

Who can come?

Day camps are open to any student, this includes non Enshin members as well. The rates will vary depending on which program your students is enrolled in. Yearly after-school students cost is $20. Month to month after-school students cost is $40. Students enrolled in the evening classes cost $50. Non Enshin members cost $60.

What do students need?

At a minimum, students need a lunch and two snacks. We would prefer you send them with a lunch that does not need to be refrigerated. We would also like them to bring their karate uniform (Gi). If you aren’t currently enrolled in a karate program and don’t have a Gi, comfortable gym clothes will suffice for karate class.

Will we go on a field trip during snow days?

Typically, we will not go on a field trip during snow days for obvious safety reasons.

Is there a minimum number of students?

No.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Summer season may still seem far away, but it’ll be here before you know it!!

This year, we are holding 11 fun, productive and educational weeks of Summer Camp, from Monday, June 10th, through Friday, August 24th. We strongly recommend everyone registering prior to February 28 to ensure you take advantage of the best rates offered to our own current customers and secure a spot for your child(ren) early. We may not have any space available during some weeks (especially the first and last two weeks of Summer) if you wait to register.

Early registration also helps us plan our field trips, because most locations require reservations a few months ahead of time with details of how many visitors as well as staff. No payment is necessary until February 28th. Feel free to share this post with your friends, neighbors and family members. Nothing more fun than share great moments with those we care for.

To keep camp fun and exciting for our returning campers, we will include a variety of NEW and FUN field trips this year again. Our 2019 Summer Camp Field trips are:

[01/09/19]   Karate is very well known as a system of self-defense where with consistent and strenuous training punches and kicks become extremely dangerous and useful in a case of a need. But karate is not only that. I would go further and say that martial arts are very solid and effective educational system. A Chinese proverb says: “If you are thinking one year ahead, sow seed. If you are thinking 10 years ahead plant a tree. If you are thinking 100 years ahead educate people.”

Martial arts as an educational system are of paramount importance for everybody especially for kids. Karate benefits kids at every aspect of their lives – physical, mental, spiritual and emotional. Developing balance, coordination, focus, respect, discipline, self-defense is well known features of every practice.
However, I would like to turn your attention to some of the other important benefits that every kid is receiving in his or her karate class.

First, through karate kids are Creating Good Habits. We as human beings are creatures of our habits. In karate training kids learn to show up on time, to respect their teacher, partners, opponents, to practice hard, to live a healthy lifestyle, to take good care of their body, mind and spirit and the list goes on… Once kids get these habits they have them forever. Good habits become a legacy.

Second, martial arts are improving kids Self-Confidence. Every kid that is practicing conscientiously and consistently is getting better and better. And the kids are realizing that. They start feel good about themselves, they feel special and important. They feel they can do anything in life. They develop the “I can do it” attitude, which ultimately translates in all areas in their lives.

Third, karate is helping kids to have goals – Goal Orientation. Goals are the meaning of our life. When you have a goal you pursue it with all your heart and soul. In karate kids learn that every practice is another step to their goal – next belt, better technique, getting stronger…

And last but not least, martial arts develop another important attitude -“Never give up”. A Japanese proverb says: “Fall 7 times, stand up 8”. And that is all karate is about. That is all our life is about, isn’t it?
I am very grateful to all my karate teachers for their guidance and support. I’m very grateful to ENSHIN karate for all these lifetime benefits.
OSU!

virginiakarate.com Our History In 1999 Sensei Nima Mazhari founded a small karate school in Virginia. WHAT IS KARATE AND SHOULD WE LET OUR KIDS GIVE UP?
Karate is often a misunderstood art. More than breaking blocks of wood and mastering the high kicks of self defense, it’s about discipline. And one cannot understand discipline without becoming somewhat adept at self-discipline. If we want our children to grow up embracing the virtues of self-control, respect, and confidence in themselves, then it is we as parents who have to demonstrate those same qualities to our children, and do so from about the age that they begin to walk.

Our kids learn to quit teams and music lessons, art classes and after school programs. Sometimes it is necessary, but sometimes they are bored or don’t like the coach or would just rather play video games at home. Deciding when to let your kids quit something, be it Gymboree, Little League or SAT prep, is a question that never goes away.

“The first time I let them walk away from something just because at that moment it didn’t suit them was the last time I had any credibility about endurance or resilience because the refrain henceforth would have been, “But you let me quit….”

We all have had experiences where we have given up early on something we wish we did not. We regret those experiences so let’s change that for our kids. We can let them build on that discipline to never give up and always persevere because our kids are not quitters. They want to be successful, they want to do karate, you want them to be successful, you want them to do karate. We do not want our kids to ever give up.

Dear Parents,

On Saturday February, 3rd we will be hosting our monthly Parents Night Out/ Bring a Friend Night.

This night includes:

-Taking care of your child(ren) from 6:00pm-12:00am
-Pizza
-Fun Games and Activities. Pillow Fight!
-Movie

This is going to be a great night for parents to go to a movie, dinner, run errands, or relax at home without the kids. Friends and siblings are welcome to come.
For every friend you bring you receive $10 off!**Friends must have registration form filled out by parents or legal guardian. This is also a waiver/release form for non-students.

Sensei Vlado
