We are a Reggio Emilia inspired early childhood school located in Ashburn, Virginia serving children aged 6 weeks through 12 years old.
Through the Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, children are given the tools and support to steer through their own distinct paths of discovery. Our project-based curriculum encourages children to be active participants in the learning process and to develop the skills needed to explore their ideas, interests, and questions in a meaningful way.
Mission: The mission of The Compass School is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes your child's depth of knowledge while inspiring a life-long love of learning.
Operating as usual
We had a wonderful day while learning the history behind the Reggio-inspired philosophy and preparing our classrooms for the new school year! We can't wait to greet our friends on Tuesday.
This is a friendly reminder that Compass is closed Friday, September 4 for Teacher In-Service and Monday, September 7 in observance of the holiday.
Stay safe and enjoy your long weekend!

Try this one at home! Tissue Paper Mosaic with Trailblazers friends.
While looking at some pictures during their All Around the World unit, our twos friends noticed some beautiful mosaic tiles and created their own by tearing up colorful tissue paper and putting it down on contact paper. What a great way to work on their pincer grip!
