Social Thinking

The future is always unknown, but there is always hope. And always, always growth. Let's never forget that as our kids change and grow up.

"I wish I could tell other parents at the start of their journey what it’s taken me two decades to learn. First, that your child may continue to grow and change and, even at the age of 21, may surprise you by doing things you never thought possible. Second, that in the end, success won’t be measured by academic performance or job placement. It will have more to do with accumulating small pleasures and filling your life with those."

Whole Body Listening Larry - helps us to think with our eyes, bodies and brain. Like the saying that "it's a tool, not a rule!" It can be used in a lot of different ways with your students or children.

Taking a Deeper Look at Whole Body Listening: It’s a Tool Not a Rule. Many children do not fully understand what is expected of them or may not be able to meet the expected demands when it comes to listening. Truesdale emphasizes that whole body listening is “a tool, not a rule,” meaning that adults need to think flexibly about how best to use it. There is no “one way” to teach the whole body listening concept. The goal is to create effective approaches for those with a variety of learning styles. And most importantly, to do this in ways that respect each person’s particular needs and abilities.
