Tiberiu Baicoianu is a clarinet instructor. He Teaches all levels, from young beginners to advanced and adult students.

In teaching, Tiberiu has a musicianship-focused, methodical approach, providing the student with all the tools they need to succeed in their time at OPUS and beyond. All fundamentals practiced serve the purpose of helping each student to find their “voice”, enjoy making music, and become the musician they strive to be.

Tiberiu is an involved chamber musician and a founding member of the Philharmonia da Camera, an actively performing trio consisting of clarinet, cello, and piano. Together, they bring their music to chamber venues of the greater D.C. area. Additionally, he is a former member and has performed extensively with the Cleveland Wind Trio (CWT) and joined with an award-winning wind quintet, the North Coast Winds, for their 2018-19 season.

Tiberiu is the former principal clarinetist of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, located in Sandusky, Ohio, where he performed for their 2018-2021 seasons. Additionally, he performed with multiple ensembles in the northern Ohio area, including the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland POPS Orchestra, and the Cleveland Orchestra as part of the Kent/Blossom Music Festival. Tiberiu appears on the Naxos label in a 2018 GRAMMY-nominated album featuring contemporary American music as part of the National Orchestral Institute and Festival. Additionally, he can be heard on multiple Oberlin Conservatory Label Recordings, such as the Bernard Rands English Horn Concerto and Stephen Hartke’s declamatory “State of Ship.”

We invest time and effort with our young students to teach them how to read music before learning how to read words.

And when that happens, the music turns into this special thing that stays with them forever.

To watch how that magic happens, please call or text us to arrange for a free trial lesson and assessment for your child.

Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy.

It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.

Hello students! Here’s a little music gift.
It’s an introduction to music to the newest
among us. These are some fundamentals of
music:
*Pitch: is the difference between two notes
that are seven notes apart.
*Scale: is a note that determines the starting
point of a song.
*Rhythm: is the repetition of beats and notes
in a loop to go with a song.
*Melody: is the arrangement of notes and
silence to create the basics of music.
*Chords: it’s what happens when you play
three or more notes of the same pitch at the
same time.

Musical experience at an early age is extremely important in a child’s developmental process. Like riding a bike or learning a language, these skills can be learned later in life, but they will never be “natural” in the way that is so important for fluid musical performance.

Most of our instructors teach

The love of music that our

We know Albert Einstein for his
genius in physics, but did you
know how passionate he was
about music? And how closely
linked it was to his genius?
His mother was a piano teacher
who taught him from a very
early age. He eventually settled
on the violin and loved to play
for others.

In addition, he used to play
classical music, especially
Mozart, as a way of
“brainstorming” while thinking
about physics.
