Hello students! Here’s a little music gift.
It’s an introduction to music to the newest
among us. These are some fundamentals of
music:
*Pitch: is the difference between two notes
that are seven notes apart.
*Scale: is a note that determines the starting
point of a song.
*Rhythm: is the repetition of beats and notes
in a loop to go with a song.
*Melody: is the arrangement of notes and
silence to create the basics of music.
*Chords: it’s what happens when you play
three or more notes of the same pitch at the
same time.

We know Albert Einstein for his
genius in physics, but did you
know how passionate he was
about music? And how closely
linked it was to his genius?
His mother was a piano teacher
who taught him from a very
early age. He eventually settled
on the violin and loved to play
for others.

In addition, he used to play
classical music, especially
Mozart, as a way of
“brainstorming” while thinking
about physics.

The cello lives in the richest and
most warm areas in music. The

able to play really squeaky high,
and yet just a moment later, sink
down into a depths and cause
the room to vibrate with its
lowest notes.

Math and music are two very different disciplines on the surface, but on a deeper level they are quite similar.

Instruments that use a bow to produce a sound are called bowed stringed instruments.

The Arabian rabab and the rebec, are said to be the ancestors of the violin. They came from the orient in the Middle Ages and were very popular in Spain and France.

Near the end of the Middle Ages, a bowed stringed instrument called a fiddle appeared in Europe.

The drum is regarded as the oldest musical instrument on Earth. Although the oldest drums found by archaeologists are 8-9 thousand years old, people began inventing and using percussion instruments much, much earlier.

Percussion instruments are the simplest, most natural instruments on Earth. Perhaps this is why people have always responded so intuitively to the rhythm of a drum.

We like to motivate our students with multiple concerts and award ceremonies. These events help students to develop their performance and communication skills as they prepare and perform. And allow family and friends to enjoy, record, and recognize their progress.

We hope this year we can share that progress online or on a stage.
