Make a big impact. Thanks Primrose School of Ashburn
With the start of teacher appreciation week, I wanted to share a sincere thank you and a moment of praise for the entire team at the Primrose School of Ashburn.

Our daughters, Sarah and Maggie, each started at Primrose School of Ashburn when they turned 3. Once Maggie graduated Kindergarten in 2018, we were all saddened to leave behind our Primrose family! Little did we know at the time that we would be reenrolling just a few years later.

When Loudoun County Public Schools announced that the 2020-2021 school year would begin with 100% Distance Learning, I immediately (within 5 minutes of receiving LCPS’ email!) called and spoke with Mrs. Taboada who informed me that they were working on a plan for the fall and that our name would be at the top of the list. Hearing her voice on the phone, I immediately transitioned from utter panic, to hope as I knew she would have the exact right plan to help our girls.

Sarah and Maggie had a rough time during the pandemic. From ever changing standards and schedules, to their silent fear of the unknown. The first time they said they felt “normal” was when they were greeted by their old friends at Primrose! Despite being the two oldest kids in the school at ages 9 and 11, they immediately felt comfort as they were greeted by Mrs. Sally and their former teacher Mrs. Puri. They had lots of struggles this year, with the rigors of distance learning, but Ms. Krystal has been a constant teacher, cheerleader, and counselor to them during her time in the classroom. We could not be more pleased with our choice to return to Primrose!

Thank you for all that you do! You have, and always will be, a huge part of our little family!
Primrose School invites you to join them this weekend at their Open Houses in Ashburn and Broadlands! More than the opportunity to visit the most awarded preschool in NOVA, receive a free week of tuition if you visit, enroll, and start before 2020! Plus, RSVP (at the links below) and they'll apply their registration fee towards your first paid week of tuition!

Need a new book suggestion? Just ask Og®! Right now, he’s reading “What Is Light?” by Markette Sheppard and learning how we all have a light within us. Pair your reading with these discussion questions to encourage a conversation with your child about the importance of respecting our own light, and everyone else’s.

🌟 What is something you have in common with your friends?
🌟 How are you different from your friends?
🌟 What’s something that makes someone you love different and special?
🌟 How can you encourage others to be themselves?

Happy birthday to Ms. Ingrid, one of our amazing Preschool teachers!

In Prekindergarten, the students started the year learning all about themselves. During Project Time, the students drew in their features and added their hair color and length in a face outline.

During Noggin’ Joggin’, the students created graphs by sorting their names by what color hair they have, then by what color eyes they have. The students then counted and compared how many students were in each column. Their work is now proudly displayed in their classroom!

Join us as we celebrate National Day of Belongingness on September 29 and help support the students of the AdventHealth West Lakes Early Learning Center. Over 90 percent of these students would not be able to attend the school without subsidized tuition, and your donation will help them to learn, grow and thrive in a caring and inclusive community. Books are a great way to help children feel a sense of belongingness, so we’re sharing some of our favorite classroom reading.
Young children are still developing their sense of self, which is why it’s important for them to see people who look like them in books, images and toys. It’s also important to see a variety of other people so children can learn to appreciate those who are different. https://bit.ly/3Dx8zNo

With a new school year kicking off, getting back into the swing of things can be hard — especially in the mornings.

A good routine can help make starting the day happier for the whole family. Try these four, easy-to-incorporate tips from a mom of three and start shaping the right routine for you.

1. Prepare as much as possible the night before
The fewer tasks you leave until the morning the better. Start by laying out clothes for the next day and taking care of any necessary ironing. Pack lunches, diaper bags and backpacks and leave them by the door so you don’t forget anything on your way out. Make a checklist of any must-haves for the next day and post it on the door as one final reminder.

2. Wake up 15 to 30 minutes earlier
A little extra time can make a huge difference. Help everyone feel less rushed and more relaxed by adjusting your alarm time and giving yourself a buffer to get everything done before you head out for the day.

3. Treat yourself
Do something nice for yourself in the morning. Make a nice breakfast, or give yourself some quiet time on the couch, but whatever it is, stick to it — it’ll help motivate you to wake up early and get the day going.

4. Take care of you
Staying active helps you sleep better, eat better and wake up more easily. Pick days during the week that you can consistently commit to exercising and protect that time. No one’s saying it’s easy, but you’ll feel more energized in everything else you do.

Not every day is going to be perfect, but with these tips, you’ll ease into the new school year schedule in no time. https://bit.ly/3zNyFI6
