ℍ𝕠𝕨 𝕥𝕠 𝕤𝕒𝕟𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕫𝕖 𝕥𝕠𝕪𝕤

During a pandemic and cold and flu season it is extra important to keep toys clean and sanitized. Here are some easy tips for your home.

𝕊𝕠𝕗𝕥 𝕥𝕠𝕪𝕤- If they don’t have an electronics in them, throw them in the washing machine and dryer! You can put them in a pillow case or garment bag to keep them together if you’d like.

𝔼𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕚𝕔 𝕥𝕠𝕪𝕤- Use disinfecting wipes to wipe them down and let them air dry.

ℙ𝕝𝕒𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕔/ℝ𝕦𝕓𝕓𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕠𝕪𝕤- Fill your sink with a disinfecting solution of 1/4 cup Clorox and 1 gallon of hot water. Dip the toys and let them air dry on a towel.

𝕃𝕒𝕣𝕘𝕖 𝕥𝕠𝕪𝕤 (𝕠𝕣 𝕒𝕟𝕪𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕖𝕝𝕤𝕖)- Wipe them down with disinfecting wipes.

Do this once a week but also use sanitizing wipes in between when toys are being shared among kids. Daycare regulations require daily sanitizing as well as sanitizing after each toy has been contaminated with saliva or other bodily fluids. So yeah... lots and lots of cleaning!!

The last Monday at “Jemmifer’s” 😢

After three years of full-time licensed childcare and two years part-time care, I have accepted a position with USD 465 as the Kansas Reading Roadmap Program Coordinator. It is an after school and summer program for k-3rd grade that focuses on increasing the literacy proficiency at the third grade level. I’m so sad to see this chapter of my life close but I’m excited for the future.

We got outside to enjoy the cool weather and play with dinosaurs and volcanos. Volcanos-1, Dinosaurs-0, sand and vinegar everywhere..... priceless.....

I have been working today and this evening to prepare for the possibility of severe weather tomorrow. I have discussed with the kids about possibly having to go to the basement and of course they are excited. Hopefully we won't have to do so but we are ready for whatever comes our way!

I've been busy on Pinterest finding fun things to do now that it is warming up and planning out the summer calendar. I can't wait to try the new crafts with the kids, start our garden, and watch them learn😄
