Caring Whirlwinds Scholarships
Because of the tremendous community support the fifth grade Caring Whirlwinds received, these students proudly presented senior scholarships totaling $1800 this year! The seniors applying for this scholarship had to submit an essay explaining how they had served their community as well as how they served as positive role models for others. The 20 Caring Whirlwinds listened to these essays and then cast their votes for the top one.
Breanna Taylor received this year’s top award in the amount of $400. Parker Foreman, Hannah Jacobs, Emma McIntire, and Reese Plattner also received scholarships in the amount of $350 each. Congratulations to all of this year’s scholarship recipients!
This scholarship was first established in 2016. The following is a list of the previous recipients:
2016 - Jacob Hester
2017 - Cassie Scholten
2018 - Austin Jacks
2019 - Gage Shaw
2020 - Cole Sutton
2021 - Chesnie Baker, Grace Fuller, & Emily Hopkins
Again, thank you for your support of this which has proved to provide a meaningful experience for our elementary Caring Whirlwinds.

Mrs. Jacob’s fifth grade class ended the year with an informative essay project. This year the students researched a country- culture/traditions, geography, climate, codes of manners, religion, clothing, population, and ethnicities. After writing an essay, students created a Google slide presentation, showcasing pictures of the new information learned. As a culminating activity, students were asked to find an authentic recipe from the country they researched, make it, and bring it to share on presentation day. The class enjoyed trying foods from around the world!
