Tonight’s the big night! The 5:30 pm Jazz Band and dinner and 7 pm Awards Gala will be at the Alliance Eagles Club this evening. For those who purchased a ticket for the meal, serving and jazz band entertainment begins at 5:30 pm. Those attending the free awards portion we hope to see at 7 pm!
What a night! Thanks again to Dr. Steve Sudduth for all his efforts, and to the APS Foundation for making this week happen! Incredible people making incredible things possible for our students here in Alliance. Enjoy “Twin Fountains March” in its world premiere!

Dear Directors,
First of all, thank you again for taking the time to nominate your students for the 2019 Nebraska Ambassadors of Music European tour. An informational meeting was scheduled for this Saturday, April 14th. Due to the predicted poor weather conditions, this meeting will need to be postponed. Because of the short notice, I am asking if you would please let your students know about the meeting being postponed during your rehearsals tomorrow (Friday). Please let them know that they will be contacted about the new date for this meeting soon. Thanks again for your help and good luck next week at District Music Contest.

UNK HONOR BAND/CHOIR CANCELLED
The following email excerpt was sent out to all directors earlier this afternoon:
Directors,
With the continued deterioration of the forecast and a strong potential for significant snow and wind, we have decided to cancel Monday’s Honor Band and Choral Clinic.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but the primary concern is the safety of you, your students, and any family members that were planning to attend the evening concerts.
The cancellation will be announced via UNK social media, the UNK webpage, and distributed to local news outlets throughout the state. It is my hope that this information will reach all affected parties well in advance of potentially traveling to Kearney. If you can pass along information of the cancellation to your students and parents as well, we should have everyone in the loop and avoid any unnecessary travel in these dangerous conditions.
We will not be rescheduling the Honor Clinic due to the challenge of finding an appropriate date that will work with your school schedules and university calendar.
Thank you for your understanding with the timeframe of making this decision. The most important thing is to ensure the safety of all participants and the cancellation of the Honor Clinic is certainly the most prudent option when faced with dangerous travel possibilities.

Thanks again and congratulations to the band members that participated in the Box Butte Co. Fair parade a few weeks ago! What a great way to start the year off!
The Alliance Band Parents are having their annual 5K & 10K run at Bulldog Stadium. Entry fee is $20. There will be a 2 mile walk and 400 meter fun run for kids at no charge. Registration at 7:15 am, race at 8 am. Registration form can be picked up at the Chamber.

The Keep Alliance Beautiful community cleanup project for the band has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 6 at 9 am due to weather.
