Operating as usual
Good Morning!
This month we will be working on our Basketball unit. The students will be learning the key aspects of basketball: dribbling, passing, and shooting.
During the month, we will be working on these basketball specific skills and we will be using basketball lead-up games for these skills, as well.
Thanks for following and please share the page.
This week in P.E. class, our Pre-K through 2nd grade classes will be working on our underhand tossing motion by bowling. This will help them easily transition into our tossing and catching unit. Our 3rd and 4th graders will be testing in the sit and reach and shuttle run.
Also, the date has been set for 2nd Annual C.A.R.E.S. Field Day; which is May 20th.
Thanks for liking our page and have a great week!
Our 1st through 4th graders have been playing a game called, "Alaskan Baseball." This game focuses on how to accurately run the bases. It's great practice for those who already play baseball or softball and a good learning experience for those who do not play the game. The students have been doing a great job playing.
Pre-K and Kindergarten have been playing a game called, "Scooter Hockey." This game has the students riding scooters and using hand-held hockey sticks to dribble, pass and shoot the ball on goal.
*Please share our page to other parents/guardians and/or community members. Our goal is 100 likes.
Thanks for taking the time to read the posts!
This week in P.E. class, our 3rd and 4th graders will be playing a game called, "Speedball." Speedball is a fast paced game that combines the elements of: soccer, football, ultimate frisbee, and basketball. The students have enjoyed this game very much!
Our Pre-K, K, 1st, and 2nd graders are revisiting a game we played in September...soccer. They as well are having a lot of fun playing and are doing a great job using their soccer skills they were taught in the beginning of the year!
This week, we will be playing a game called, "Pin Knockout." Pin Knockout is a game that practices throwing, tossing, and aiming at another players' pin. The goal is to be the last pin remaining.
Enjoy your week!
This week in P.E. class, we are working on our coordination and cardiovascular by doing Wii Dance! The students seem to be enjoying it so far.
Our next unit in P.E. class will be basketball. Students will learn the following: how to dribble the basketball, how to pass the basketball, and how to shoot the basketball (jump shot). During our basketball unit, students will practice these skill in various ways and use lead up games to develop their basketball skills.
Four our last week of P.E. class for the 2015 year, we played a Holiday Game called "Sleigh Rides." Sleigh Rides is a scooter activity where two students partner up-one student sits on the scooter, the "sleigh," and the other partner, the "reindeer," pull the "sleigh." The students had a great time!
We would like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday! Enjoy your break.

This week in P.E. class, we are starting our hockey unit. Before we play our hockey games, the students will be practicing some very important skills associated with hockey: Dribbling, Passing, and Shooting. We will also touch base on the offensive and defensive strategies of the game, as well. Grades 1-4 will be using our pillo polo hockey sticks (see picture included) and our Pre-K and Kindergartners will be using foam pool noodles.

Over the past couple weeks, we have been working on our throwing, tossing, and catching unit. We played various games that practiced these skills and also practiced throwing, tossing, and catching various objects. Everyone did a great job!
Everyone enjoy the Fall Break.
This week in P.E. class we are finishing up Pin Soccer with grades 1-4. The students are practicing their soccer skills and getting ready for next week when we play our Soccer games with goals.
Our Pre-K and Kindergaretn students were introduced to Scooters. They learned how to ride the scooter, how to "park" the scooter when they are not using them, and they even practiced moving in general space with the scooter. We also played a scooter activity called "Apple Picking." The students had to ride their scooter to select an "apple" (a ball), on the gym floor, and return it back to their "basket" (a hula-hoop).
Have a great and safe weekend!
This week in P.E. class, we have begun our soccer unit. Before we play our games, we will learn a couple of very important skill sets: dribbling, passing, shooting, and playing defense.
For our warm-up activities, we will be playing Fitness Tag. Fitness Tag introduces the students to various types of exercises that they will learn over several weeks.
Don't forget...the P.T.A. Walk-A-Thon is scheduled for Friday, September 25th. More information will be sent out next week.
It was a great first two days of school! We reviewed the rules and procedures of P.E. class and will continue to review them next week.
