Good Bones

Good Bones; The story of Mama Bear & An American social problem. Even though everyone I knew told me how hard parenting was going to be, and how much I would have to invest of myself, and how selfless I would have to become, and all the ways in which I would give of myself over and over again, no amount of advice ever really prepared me for the reality of the picturesque adage of a Mother Bear with her cubs that I would surely become when called upon, defending and protecting my young against all odds in a savage world of cavernous yawns in the earth threatening to swallow them up, or ledges from which they could surely fall, or other vicious predators who might potentially gobble them whole. Confessions of a Homo-Sapiens Mama - Child in the Wild

Confessions of a Homo-Sapiens Mama... I would make a terrible hippie since having a child. I say this in the most romantic and respectful of ways because I have several very good friends who are happily and healthily co-existing with the layers of grime and grit from their daily lives on their skin and in their hair and clothes day after day, forging into the sunrise with yesterday's hopes and dreams tucked into their sleeves and memories of days gone by woven into the earthy applications of hands and faces washed only with time until rain or snow or the sheer scent of oneself causes a change in these habits of conservation of resources. Things that are round... - Child in the Wild

Things that are round… The globe is round. Wheels are round. A cycle is round. Lots of things that make good sense are round. And in almost everything organic, there is one aspect of it that is round, or one part that can be considered round; like the composition of the drawing of an animal during which the artist begins to place shapes onto the canvas, Life itself can be considered round, of course in the sense of it being a cycle, but also in the sense that it represents something much more akin to the earth's shape and the sky itself, than any other thing. The Yurt Life - Child in the Wild

The Yurt Life... After myself and the youngest version of that dream of life unfolding returned from Europe, we were a tiny bit culture-shocked. I expected it partially. The change from walking everywhere to driving when not riding trains. The variety and plethora of food available to us. The amount of space allowed not just indoors, but on highways, and in stores. Ahhhhh- America!!! [ 668 more words. ]

Nouns of Existence; an existential tangent. - Child in the Wild

Nouns of Existence; an existential tangent... Once upon a time, I had planned to write a book entitled: "The Politics of Being.", about the many variances of life as I knew it, saw it, lived it, and experienced it on a daily basis, on an annual account, and with regards to my past and future notions of a world in which I imagined utopic and perfect in every way. Home... Yesterday evening, after all day on three different aircrafts flying back in time through three different countries, I arrived into Denver, Colorado with tons of chocolate and gummy bears, my now 4-year old daughter who has become an even more incredible person, and a huge heart bursting with joy. We are elated to be back home!!! It was and is surreal. [ 871 more words. ]
