Allen FFA Agricultural Mechanics students exhibited their shop projects on Monday at the Collin County Jr. livestock show.
The Allen AG mech team exhibited a 16' utility trailer, 3 point hay spear, table, truck headache rack, offset BBQ smoker, fire pit, and an indoor trash can holder.

Allen FFA had a great night at the District 4 Leadership Development Event contest. We had several teams compete and will have 4 teams advancing to Area competition next week.
Advancing to Area:
Senior Creed (1st)
Senior Chapter Conducting (2nd)
Greenhand Chapter Conducting (2nd)
Greenhand Quiz (2nd)
Also competing at district tonight we had the following teams:
Senior Skills Demonstration (4th)
Radio Broadcast (11th)
Senior Quiz (16th)
All our students worked hard this fall preparing for these contests. Good luck to those representing Allen FFA next week at the area contest.

The Allen Fire Department came to AHS today and yesterday to give our shop students some hands on fire extinguisher training.
Hopefully we will not have to use this training BUT our students know what to do in the event they need to put out a fire.
Of course FFA students are super competitive, the fastest student to extinguish the flames received a super cool Allen Fire Department tumbler!

Huge thank you to our Area 5 officer team for coming out to help with the Allen FFA Labor Day Blowout show this weekend. We were a little short handed this year and needed help working the show, these student leaders stepped right up and truly exemplified the FFA motto by 'Living to Serve'.
Thank you for spending time with us on your holiday weekend!

Made it home safe from the State FFA Convention 1121 miles traveled with 11 of the best students at Allen High School. We were in Corpus Christi for the week with 12,000 other FFA members from across this great state our students did the following:
-8 students received their Lonestar Degree (Briston Garner, Kaitlyn Martin, Chelsea Dahlgren, Elizabeth Sawyers, Morgan Koiner, Morgan Applewhite, Koby Lindsey, Savanna Walker)
- recognized as superior chapter
- STATE WINER (Nick Ehlers) star chapter placement for his supervised agriculture experience
-2 American FFA degree recipients that will get their award at Nationals in October ( Brittney Lynn Borserine, Lyric Waugh)
-Honorary Lonestar Degree Recipient (Mr. Tim Conkle)
- Attended leadership workshop with National FFA officer Trey Elizondo
-voted on business regarding Texas FFA
-Heard from keynote speaker Keni Thomas ( Decorated US Military Veteran
-attended the Texas FFA Rodeo Finals
-saw Aaron Watson in concert and got autographs and hugs. Great guy! ( quote from Mr. Watson : playing at the FFA convention has been one of his best things he has done in his career)
-voted for state ffa officers
-listened to 10 outstanding officer retiring addresses with words of encouragement and motivation for their futures.
-visited the Texas State Aquarium
-voted on best talent team out of 10 outstanding area talent teams
- danced at the largest dance of their lives with over 6000 students in attendance
-watched texas ffa hand out thousands of awards and scholarships across the week
-visited the USS Lexington
