As President and member of the Speakup Allen Toastmasters club, I am pleased to share our new membership promotion drive, called The 12X12. Each existing member who brings in a new member gets $12 off their membership due for the next 6 months (dues from March to September). This is cumulative, so $12 off for each new member you bring in. New members will also get their club dues i.e. $12 waived off. Hurry, the drive ends March 31st.
For folks who haven't visited a Toastmasters club, please find one near you at toastmasters.org. The benefits in terms of personal growth and community help are immense.

Come to our Club's Speech Contests, Wednesday, Sept. 13, 7 p.m.! We will have a Humor Speech contest followed by a Speech Evaluation Contest, followed by time for club members to provide feedback on our meetings through the year. Bring friends and colleagues! This will be an entertaining meeting.

Our club will be having a Humorous Speech Contest and a Speech Evaluation Contest at our meeting Sept. 13. The winner of each may go on to compete in the district contest this fall. Everyone attending the meeting will be eligible to compete in the Evaluation Contest, and all will be evaluating the Humorous Speech(es) presented in the first portion of the meeting. There will be no other prepared speeches at this meeting. This will be an enjoyable way to practice speech evaluations -- whether you have completed fewer than 5 speeches or more than 5! And the Humorous Speech presenters will appreciate the feedback provided. Invite your friends and colleagues to attend this special meeting of our club!

Speak Up Allen! Toastmasters will host a training on how to do speech evaluations this Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. Whether you have completed 3, 5, 7 or more speeches, you can participate in this training to be conducted by our Expert Speech Evaluator Marlene Byndon. The training will be the focus of our meeting and there will be no prepared speeches this week.
Our meetings are hybrid i.e. we meet in-person and on Zoom, every Wednesday 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
