Have you voted yet? If you're headed to the polls soon, remember to go to the bottom of the ballot to vote in the Allen ISD Bond Election. Due to new state law, all school district bond propositions throughout the state will include the following text: "This is a property tax increase" even if there is no expected increase to the school district tax rate. By paying off previous bonds early and refinancing bonds for better interest rates, Allen ISD has the capacity to layer in $222 million of new issuance with no increase to the tax rate.
October 15 is National White Cane day, an annual celebration of achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired. This day marks the importance of recognizing the white cane as not just a tool, but a symbol of independence world-wide for those in the visually impaired community.
Evans Elementary held #WhiteCaneSafetyDay today with a walk around the perimeter of the campus to celebrate two incredible sisters, Sophia and Blair Peterson, who are visually impaired. Sophia and Blair decorated their white canes, were cheered on by their classmates, and led the way for this year's celebratory walk.
This walk is a shining example of the girls' independence and strength, and of the joyous culture at Evans Elementary.

Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Daniel Pitcock, shares what this would include.
Allen ISD has made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming home varsity football game against Tyler Legacy on Oct. 16. Following the cancellation of last night’s football game, additional lab-confirmed positive tests of COVID-19 were reported last night and this morning. After consulting with the AISD athletic department and our health coordinator, Allen ISD believes this decision is in the best interest of both Allen’s and Tyler Legacy’s players and staff.
This Friday’s game was scheduled to be Allen High School’s Homecoming game. All homecoming festivities, including the crowning of the king and queen and the planned drive-in movie, will be postponed to a later date. Allen High School will communicate the new event schedule when details are finalized.
While the cancellation of both games is unfortunate, AISD wants to emphasize that this is no fault of our students or coaches. AISD students and staff across the district have done an excellent job of following health and safety guidelines. As a reminder to all in our community, please continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and stay home if you are feeling ill.
Allen ISD would like to thank the entire community for its support and understanding during these difficult times. We look forward to having our football team, Escadrille, cheerleaders and many other student groups participate in the next home football game on Oct. 30 against McKinney Boyd.
Friendly Reminder Allen ISD! All campuses are closed for a student and staff holiday on Monday, October 12. Tuesday, October 13 will be a staff development day. We welcome all In-Person Learners back to campus on Wednesday, October 14.
Allen ISD families were able to change their learning selection model (In-Person Learning or At-Home Learning) for the 2nd 9-week grading period, which begins on Oct. 14. This table reflects the campus-by-campus breakdown of students who will attend In-Person or At-Home Learning for the 2nd 9-weeks. The next opportunity to change your child’s learning model will take place on December 1-7 for the 3rd 9-week period.
Dear Allen Eagle Fans,
It is our regret to inform you that tonight’s (Oct. 9, 2020) football game against Cedar Hill has been canceled. Two student-athletes from our team have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two days. This decision was made by AISD’s district and athletic administrators out of an abundance of caution and in the best interest of both teams’ athletes.
Any student who has a lab-confirmed positive test of COVID-19 will be required to remain off campus and follow CDC guidelines before returning to school. District officials have begun contact tracing to determine if any students were in close contact with individuals who have tested positive.
District officials will continue to monitor the football team, as well as all other teams, groups, and our student population. Allen ISD will continue to take proactive health procedures to allow our students to continue participating in school events. At this point, the remainder of Allen’s football games will be played as scheduled.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
The Allen ISD Administration

On Sept. 28, the Allen ISD Board of Trustees approved a 2020-2021 tax rate of $1.4325, which is 2.6 cents lower than last year. What does this mean for taxes on the average residence? The average market value of a residence climbed to $374,902 this year (from $372,578 last year). Even with this increase in market value, the school taxes due on this household would decrease by $37.
Over the past seven years, the Allen ISD tax rate has dropped 23.75 cents.
It's the last day of the Foundation For Allen Schools "We Believe" campaign. Every little bit helps!
TODAY is the last day for our We Believe in Eagles Campaign! We challenged our Allen Community to give back in the same amount our Allen ISD teachers and staff give back each year through payroll deduction ($100,000). We are $16,000 shy of our goal. We are looking for 160 generous donors to give $100 TODAY and we will hit our goal. This money will ensure the continuation of our scholarships for the class of 2021 and classroom grants for teachers across our district at every campus. We have until midnight....who will help? Every gift no matter it's size will help us get there!!!https://secure.qgiv.com/event/webelieve/
