Happy St. Patrick's Day! We feel so LUCKY to have your kids in our school!
When is it ok to change your mind about disliking something even if you have never tried it? When it involves green eggs and ham, of course! And here is a handy tip; your child may be more likely to try a new food if he or she helps to prepare it. Green eggs and ham may seem outrageous, but that is exactly what makes it so fun. Opportunities to help in the kitchen are a terrific way to teach your child about making healthy choices and enjoying new challenges, and this snack will not disappoint in either area.
Ingredients:
-2 eggs
-Slice of cooked ham
-Green food coloring
-Boiling water
Materials:
-Bowl
-Plate
-Spoon
-Microwave
-Cooking pot
Instructions:
1. Place eggs in boiling water until cooked
2. Peel eggs
3. Cut eggs long ways
4. Take out the cooked yolk
5. Mix green food coloring with yolk
6. Spoon green yolk back into the eggs
7. Warm ham in microwave if you prefer
Literacy Connection: Why not introduce some new ways of thinking about how an experience can help shape a personâs beliefs with the classic Dr. Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham. Itâs just plain fun to read, but it also illustrates an important idea about how people can make judgements based on opinions, and sometimes those opinions can change!
Brr it's cold outside! Suite 350 decided to keep it warm and have a "Drive In Story Time". We used our math skills to count tickets for our concessions.
Despite the week ending in winter, our spring break campers have had a blast!

The greatest investment a parent can make in his child's life is time. Between the appointments and work obligations, choose thoughtful ways to spend time with your kids. It means the world to them!
Most words in a childâs vocabulary come from everyday encounters with language. Children pick up language from books, media, and conversations with the people in their lives. You can increase your childâs vocabulary and background knowledge â two important pieces of the reading puzzle â by having conversations with them. Giving children a rich language environment is one of the best ways to build a foundation for reading success. Read more in our blog:

What does it mean to a child when you say, âbe kind?â
As parents, our words are not relatable to a child without attaching an action. To teach our children to be kind to themselves and others, we must first show them what kindness means.
