The holidays are a time for joy, but for many families, there’s also a lot of pressure to make everything perfect. Try these tips to overcome packed calendars, sugar overload and budget-busting buying sprees.
📅 Create some space on your calendar.
Re-evaluate the number of parties and events you reply yes to this year and leave space for spontaneous family fun.
😴 Maintain your family’s sleep routine.
Adults and children need adequate sleep all the time, but especially during the holidays with all the stimuli and activity.
🍭 Watch out for sugar overload.
As they say, “everything in moderation.” Sweet treats are a great part of the holidays, but too much sugar can lead to cranky children and irritable adults.
👪 Keep it simple.
Making ornaments, presents and holiday décor is a fun way to express creativity, enjoy quality family time and even help ease financial stress.
🍽️ Make mealtime meaningful.
Let mealtime be a time of coming together and enjoying the moment. During the holidays, make an extra effort to eat your meals at the table as a family.
🔇 Cherish silence.
Make time for a bit of silence every day, whether it’s in the morning before the children wake up, during their nap or right before you turn in.
🎵 Create joyful rituals.
Find some time for family fun with simple holiday rituals you and your children will always remember, like singing holiday songs in the car.
Happy holidays! Check out our blog for the full story. http://bit.ly/3H2Whht

Ms. Gil is an infant teacher at Primrose School of Druid Hills and has been teaching in early childhood for over 10 years. For Native American Heritage Month, she joined us to share her story.
Tell us about yourself and your Native American heritage.
Ms. Gil: “My dad and grandma always said that our Native American Heritage was Blackfoot from the northern Idaho and Montana region. It wasn’t until our family moved to a tiny town in northern Nevada that I really learned about Native American culture. I lived on the reservation with my husband and his family, and they taught me traditions and customs of the tribe.”
