National September 11 Memorial & Museum

On this sacred day, we honor the innocent lives lost and recognize the courage of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and risked their lives to save others 19 years ago. Today, at the 9/11 Memorial, we will hear the names of the 2,983 men, women and children killed as a result of the terrorist events of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. We will stand in solidarity with their families and loved ones as we honor the life of every victim and fulfill our sacred promise to remember always. www.911memorial.org/anniversary

Reposting: Invitation to CUSD Informational Webinars

Dear CUSD Families,

I hope you all had a relaxing long weekend. As we near the end of our fourth week of the school year, I want to commend our students and families for your incredible work and continued patience as we navigate this journey together.

As we shared with you last week, the Board of Trustees voted on September 2 to simultaneously apply for an elementary waiver and engage with our stakeholders, as the application process requires, to return to in-class instruction as soon as practicable.

Yesterday, it was also announced that the County of Orange has moved to the Red Tier on Governor Newsom’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Provided our numbers stay within the Red Tier (or drop below) for the next two weeks, public schools in Orange County could open for in-person instruction as early as September 22, 2020.

We also shared with you last week that CUSD Trustees approved a phased-in reopening plan that would begin on Monday, September 28, 2020. This communication is linked here for reference.

We understand that families have many questions about our reopening plan, our health and safety protocols, and the waiver process. In an effort to share this information and answer your questions, we have scheduled three 45-minute webinars. Each webinar will have the same presentation.

You are invited to attend one of three informational webinars for families:

Thursday, September 10th at 10:00 am: Click here for webinar link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_a-Vq6i0pT62kwabZzvFLxQ

Thursday, September 10th at 5:30 pm: Click here for webinar link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_5AYJm-fQQrOGNeNgXjY7tQ
Thank you for your partnership in supporting our 47,000 CUSD students!

Sincerely,

Kirsten Vital
