Asmita Update
As a part of Awana Global Outreach (GO), our Awana club this year is supporting Awana Clubs in South Asia, primarily in Nepal. Please take a look at this touching video if you are willing and able. It is about a girl named Asmita, who is in an Awana club in Nepal and also survived the devastating earthquake in Nepal. You will hear her personal story, as well as seeing some chilling before and after pictures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCZuAI2Y3Hw
Asmita is featured in the Awana video MORE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W8R70o2cUI). This video is an update that was filmed a year after Kathmandu's re...

Is Daniel Brown's Batmobile faster than the Pastormobile? We'll find out this Saturday at the Awana Grand Prix...

Three ASBC Awana clubbers sanding their race cars at the Grand Prix clinic last Saturday. Counting down to race day this Saturday at noon in the Multi-Purpose Room!
There will be no Awana meeting tomorrow evening (December 4th). All members of ASBC are asked to attend the annual meeting if you are willing and able. See you December 11th and December 18th for our last two sessions this calendar year. December 18th will be our annual "Birthday for Jesus" theme night. Stay tuned for more details...

Thank you to the clubbers and volunteers that participated in our Adopt-a-Club theme night. Although we did not plan to pick up the coin cards until our April Missions theme night, some want to turn them in earlier. We will accept your coin cards at the clubber check-in at the start of club each evening through our April Missions theme night.

It doesn't take the whole village to put on the Awana Grand Prix but we do need your help!
No Awana tomorrow night due to the storm and the closure of the church. No Awana next week due to Christian Live Institute. See you on November 13th!
Joni Eareckson Tada on the Awana Adopt-a-Club program
Counting down to the October Theme Night, Adopt-A-Club. All encouraged to dress in "international attire". Clubbers judged to be wearing the best international attire in each club gets a special prize. More details to come... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERYNdhjndEw&feature=relmfu
Joni Eareckson Tada gives an enthusiastic endorsement of the Awana Adopt-a-Club program.
We have truly been blessed by a tremendous increase of Sparks students this year. Volunteers have answered the Pastor's call for additional leaders and now our only constraint is where to put everybody. To alleviate overcrowding in the Sparks club, First Grade Sparks clubbers will now report to Room 311/312 for handbook time only. This will allow the Kindergarten Sparks clubbers to have Room 211/212 to themselves for handbook time. Pickups at the end of club will remain in Rooms 211, 212, and 213.
BQ Coaches Meeting - Richmond | Awana Mid-Atlantic
It's never too early to start planning for Bible Quizzing (BQ), which will be held on February 2nd at Centreville Baptist Church. We sent three T&T teams last year and did well. This year, we would like to do even better and can do so by starting to prepare earlier. Here's a great link full of BQ helps and great information for anybody that wants to get closer to God through the study of his Word. http://awanamidatlantic.org/content/bq-coaches-meeting-richmond

Dear Parents/Guardians for ASBC Awana Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks and T&T... Please check your email over the next day or so for a copy of the Awana newsletter. If you would like a hard copy of it, please contact your club director.

The first night of ASBC Awana was a success! However, due to classroom size limitations and the Sparks club (K-2nd Grade) is now closed to enrollment and we are seeking additional Leaders to serve those who are enrolled. Please email [email protected] if you wish to volunteer. All Awana volunteers are provided with a free uniform shirt and a CD or DVD copy of Bible Study or March Madness.

24 hours to go! Don't forget to wear your favorite jersey (with a number on it) to Awana tomorrow night to "Count our Blessings" and celebrate the kickoff of our 2012-2013 Awana Year!

2011-2012 Closing Ceremony
Help kick-off the 2012-2013 Awana year by attending the first annual ASBC Youth Ministries Open House and Ice Cream Social at 7 PM this evening. The Pastor will start things off with a few words in the sanctuary. We will then adjourn to visit with the various Youth Ministries (Awana is in Rm 211/212), and fellowship in the Multi-Purpose Room with an Ice Cream Social.
