One of the greatest keys to success in any spiritual journey is finding the right teacher. A true teacher sets you on a path of healing, mysticism, and wellness that can transform your life. Sometimes, that journey is merely initiated by the teacher and then must be walked alone, or the lessons may unfold over a lifetime with the teacher—but the guidance of a master is your best guarantee for success.
In my own path, I was deeply humbled to be guided by two Quechua masters: Tupac Tito Kuntur and Don Climaco. During my Yachacha Pampa Paqo (Andean Wisdom teacher) training in Pumaqanchi, Peru, I was reminded of the humility it takes to receive such knowledge and the path of service that it calls on me to perform. I learned to be connected to more than knowledge for wellness, but with a whole interconnection of elements and beings to establish kinship with.
Teachers are not just guides—they are an essential kinship alliance, offering us the tools to connect with the sacred and to grow into our fullest selves.
🌱 Who have been your greatest teachers?
Let’s honor them in the comments and celebrate the wisdom they have passed down to you. 🌱

In Quechua cosmology, the Ñawis (literally meaning “eyes”) are powerful energy centers in the body, much like chakras in yoga. Each Ñawi has a psycho-spiritual dimension that control important areas of life such as our drive, love, and wisdom. Here are the three primary Ñawis you can connect with every day:
✨ Llankay (The Willpower Center)
Located near the belly button, this Ñawi is the source of your willpower, energy for labor, and drive to achieve your goals. It fuels the effort we put into completing tasks and realizing our ambitions.
💖 Munay (The Love Center)
At the heart center, Munay governs our love and compassion. From here, love radiates to all beings, nurturing our relationships and honoring our kinships.
👁 Yachay (The Knowledge Center)
Positioned at the third eye, Yachay holds both mundane and spiritual knowledge. It helps us see clearly in life, guiding us with wisdom in our decisions and understanding.
These three Ñawis should be purified daily through meditation or ceremony, allowing us to remain determined, compassionate, and wise in all we do.

🌿 For years, I sought healing from my childhood traumas through Western therapy. While I gained some relief, it wasn’t until I reconnected with the ways of my native Quechua lineage that I truly began to experience deep healing. It was through Quechua healing ceremonies that I found a profound cure for wounds that once seemed impossible to heal.
These ceremonies create pathways to transformation, and they are available to all who need help. Through them, we can find peace that we never thought was possible.
✨ A Note to Non-Indigenous Allies ✨
If you are non-Indigenous and feel drawn to these teachings but are hesitant out of respect, know this: Elders and teachers from many Indigenous traditions have called on allies to help Indigenize the world as a service to humanity, especially in light of the existential crises we face today—climate change, mental health challenges, and social disconnection.
Indigenous worldviews hold vital solutions, and diverse people are encouraged to learn these practices to help bring balance to the earth. Supporting Indigenous sovereignty and giving credit to the traditions you learn from is essential. As long as the practice is followed with respect, and lineage is honored, these teachings can be a powerful tool for everyday life or to share with others.
🌟 Follow my profile closely for more Indigenous wisdom, as I continue sharing teachings and healing practices rooted in ancient Quechua traditions. 🌟

I celebrated my birthday next to my beloved ayllu (family) by the Potomac River next to Ñusta (grandmother) Great Falls! Service to all kin and especially blood relatives is part of daily spiritual life. We exist thanks to them. We exist in relationship to them. Thank you to my friends and family for helping me celebrate the Kawsay (life force) flowing through all of us!
How does family life translate into spiritual life and a life of service for you? Let me know in the comments.

Indigenous wisdom offers powerful tools for healing and reconnecting with ourselves, nature, and the Universe. Here are 6 teachings and practices that come from the Quechua, Ta***ic, and Anishinaabeg traditions that are my go-to practices that I would like to share with you. If you think they can help you, then my goal is to help you integrate them into your wellness journey:
1. Kinship Alliances: This combined wisdom of Indigenous traditions teaches us to form deep connections with all beings such as with family, community, animals, plants, or elements. Here are two important types of kinships to foster:
* Kinship with Animals 🦅- Connect with animal guardians.
* Kinship with Mountains (Apus) or Biome Beings 🌄 – Connect with the spirits of place and larger natural beings.
2. Ethical Guidelines: The principles of Yama and Niyama (Ta***ic), and Ayni (Quechua) guide us toward living with inner and outer harmony as well as reciprocity with the world.
3. Pilgrimages: Walking the Inca Trail or making a sacred pilgrimage is more than a journey—it’s a way to connect deeply with nature and spirit.
4. Psychic Embodied Philosophy: Learn what the Quechua Ñawis 🌀(energy centers; spiritual eyes) are and their similarities to the Ta***ic philosophy of chakras.
* Meditation 🧘🏽♀️– Meditation can combine Ta***ic and Quechua techniques by focusing on the ñawis and chakras.
* Saging 🔥 – Using Kinnickinnic (traditional Anishinaabeg incense mixes) and Sapan hampikuy (self-healing techniques) you can cleanse the ñawis and purify yourself and others.
5. Empowered Stones for Healing: Sacred stones (Hampi Khuyas), and the practice of carrying a Khuya Khipu (medicine stone bundle) are at the heart of the Quechua healing tradition. Each stone holds power for personal transformation and the healing of the self and others.
6. Offering Rituals for Healing and Manifestation: Despacho ceremonies are beautiful offerings to Pachamama (Cosmic mother), creating elaborate offerings to please the Divine and set our intentions. 🌱

Trekking through the Andes has become my annual Mecca pilgrimage! Each time I am blessed and recharged. I live life in pure bliss. These mountains have long been in communication and kinship with the local people, especially the Quechua, Quero and Aymara lineages. As a Quechua Native myself, my spirituality and identity is linked to the Apus (mountain guardians).
What pilgrimages do you go on? What places are you in kinship with, or where have you gone trekking?

What does your daily practice look like, or what would you like for it to look like?

Sky Diving
by Nikki Giovanni
I hang on the edge
of this universe
singing off-key
talking too loud
embracing myself
to cushion the fall
I shall tumble
into deep space
never in this form
or with this feeling
to return to earth
It is not tragic
I will spiral
through that Black hole
losing skin limbs
internal organs
searing
my naked soul
Landing
in the next galaxy
with only my essence
embracing myself
as
I dream of you.
