In addition to that, we'll be contributing Jericho's honorarium of $250 as keynote speaker, to DC City Wildlife, a local animal shelter that also provides veterinary services to wildlife in the area. Noted for their support of the local squirrel population, it just seemed appropriate (although we admit he suggested it first, it was just so right).
We decided to round up on the donations you all provided, either voluntarily, as part of the crypto-challenge, or through swag purchases like the sweatshirts. So we're pleased to announce we'll be able to donate $600 to EFF and $400 to Hackers for Charity this year. Thank you all for the community support!
Yeah, so life is still a bit busy, but we do have the conference evaluation numbers crunched, and we've assessed the financials at a high level. We did good, and thanks again to everyone involved, from all those who attended, to our volunteer minion army, security detail, organizers and our keynote, Jericho. We'll get some of them up as soon as we can, and update the Website with the planning info for 2015!
We're also working on speaker evaluations, but those take a bit longer (downside to the paper forms is the post-event data entry work).
One of the best comments ever on the conference evals, on how did you hear about us: "Dad let/made me come."
