Please take a moment to read this story. Tucker's family is doing a Book Drive in his Memory. The books will be placed on our Alexandria Book Shelf to continue giving back to our community in his honor. DreamDog Foundation is honored to be chosen to be the recipient of this Book Drive. Please donate and help us continue to make a difference in Tucker's Memory.

Knight, a happy and healthy little guy of 21 months, peacefully went to sleep one night and didn't wake up in the morning. Although we were left with so many unanswered questions, one thing we know for sure is how Tucker's presence in the world made it a better, brighter, happier place....

A few Alexandria Book Shelf before and after pictures from Child Family Network Centers and ALIVE Child Development Center. Thank you to Amy Bickford Jackson and Susan Keightley, Director of Programs at CFNC, for the helping hands!

What life lessons would you share with your younger self? Presents of "Beanie babies" helped everyone think back to when they were a child and share what they wanted to know and understand.

Today, we created "Found Poems" by cutting out words that spoke to us and putting them together into a poem. Listen to our thoughts about love, friendship, and empowering messages we want to share.

Thank you to everyone who donated to DreamDog yesterday during our Spring2Action Day of Giving event! We so appreciate you generosity. We were busy studying, learning about and writing our own love poems. Here are just a few...We 💖you!

YEA! DreamDog Foundation met their matching grant for Spring2Action! Thank you to the Mason Hirst Foundation for your generosity!

Today DreamDog Foundation and our partner, SCAN, hosted a Spring2Love party teaching our teen moms Infant Massage and Nurturing Touch. Then we had a play date, learning nursery rhymes, in the soft playroom at Chinquapin and a party. Only a few of our Family Links Moms could make it there, but those who did had a great time and learned a lot.

Congratulations to Jason Ellis on another fabulous original musical and fundraiser for ARHA! "Not My Baby" was wonderful-- the songs were awesome, the storyline entertaining and of course, the actors and dancers were amazing! Not only did he write and produce the show but also stars in this year's production. Way to shine, Jason-- you were amazing! Congratulations to Tayhana and Summer and the rest of the cast. Great job on all the dance numbers to my "Book of My Own" students! So proud of you! Instead of flowers, they got huge chocolate bars (and were so excited). 😃if you are able to go this weekend, definitely make plans to see the show!

DreamDog dropped off four boxes of brand new books from Barnes & Noble to the Dunbar Branch of Boys and Girls Club. The students were so excited to get to pick out stacks of new books of their own. And everyone helped sticker them with Alexandria Book Shelf stickers...and even stickered themselves! 😂

The creative writing process...

Challenge for the day: using metaphors, similes, alliteration, personification and other literary devices describe the picture by telling its story. Our Ruby Tucker BOMO students knocked this one out of the ballpark. (Speaking of literary devices...)

Hip Hop for Heart ❤️ ROCKED tonight! Thank you to Catherine Joyce, Krystal Fenwick and all the volunteers for another FABULOUS evening for our ARHA and Foster Families!
Seven years ago Catherine had an idea and we have watched it blossom into this incredible party for our city's children. There was an awesome DJ with non-stop dancing, food, games and prizes for the little ones and green screen for pictures. There was even a jewelry station for the Moms, who made beautiful bracelets while their children were at the party. Everyone had a BLAST!
Finally, a HUGE "Thank You" for the leftover books for Alexandria Book Shelf. We can't wait to get those out in the community Monday morning!
What a wonderful event! ❤️💖💜

Happy Valentine's Day from DreamDog Foundation! We had a Valentine's party with Jazz the DreamDog for the children at ALIVE Child Development Center. We did a "Jump in the Book" story time, sing along and everyone got to pick a book to take home. We even brought Valentine brownies from Jazz. Then, we restocked their ABS site. Special thanks to Amy Bickford-Jackson for all your help and joining the fun day with our friends at ALIVE! 💖
