Fresh Word this morning:
I Corinthians 1:23-29
(love it!)

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 That no flesh should glory in His presence.

Note: The so-called intellectuals of this world will be found to be absolute fools ~ along with those who believe them that say ~ There is no God.

[05/06/20]   5-6-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Proverbs 18:21

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Note: This is about as serious as it comes ~

With our words we can lead others into eternal life along with ourselves ~

With our words we can bring forth death to others including ourselves.

Seeing we reap what our words sow ~ we need to choose what we say carefully amd be quick to repent when we choose the wrong words.

Help us O Lord! Amen

[05/05/20]   Fresh Word

I just finished listening to the book of Ezra.

Even though their sin was great in taking wives for themselves out of the people around them they found much Grace in the sight of God when they repented.

Repentance is such a vital part of the process of salvation ~ without it a person can never approach the Lord and find Him

[05/05/20]   5-5-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Matthew 14:25~33

25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear (that would be scary).

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be You, bid me come unto You on the water.

29 And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, wherefore (why) did you doubt?

32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD.

Note: Just as long as Peter looked at Jesus he could walk on water ~ when he looked at the troubled sea ~ he began to sink.

Look to Jesus and you will get through this and every storm.

Also remember too ~ even when he began to sink ~ when Peter cried out to Jesus ~ the Lord reached out His hand and saved him.

Fresh Word this morning:
John 14:27

Fresh Word this morning:
Romans 6:20-23

20 For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.

21 What (good) fruit had you then in those things (sins) whereof you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and (in) the end EVERLASTING LIFE.

Note: Eternal Life comes by choosing to follow Jesus ~ Death comes naturally to all of us because of sin.

[05/02/20]   5-2-20

Fresh Word this afternoon:
Romans 8:5-9
(to be taken as seriously as a heart attack!)

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

7 Because the CARNAL MIND IS ENMITY AGAINST GOD: (why?) for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

[05/02/20]   5-2-20

Joshua 24:15

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.

Note: We all have to make the same choices ~ do we follow the ways of the unbelievers and gods of this world (which are no gods) ~ or do we follow the Lord Jesus and His commandments?

As for me and my house ~ we will serve the Lord!

[05/01/20]   5-1-20
Fresh Word this morning:
Revelation 22:12

12 And, behold, I (Jesus) come quickly; and MY REWARD IS WITH ME, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Note: In John 4:36 Jesus told His disciples that those who labor in His harvest receive wages ~ when Jesus returns we most certainly will receive a great payday for our part in the harvest ~ and it shall be an eternal reward!

[05/01/20]   COVID-19 Update (4/28/2020)

Sent to me by another pastor ~ in AR

The pastors were on a district Zoom meeting Tuesday morning with Gov. Asa Hutchinson. He is anxious, as we are, to get things back open in Arkansas including churches. He made reference to Hebrews 10:25 where we are told not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. He encouraged us to be patient. The risk of gathering together can be substantial as there are many high risk individuals in our churches.

On Monday, Gov. Hutchinson will be making a decision about possibly lifting the restrictions for places of worship. Hutchinson said, “Even if we do decide to lift restrictions…I want to emphasize that we will remain under Phase One guidelines that call for masks, social distancing, and limits on the size of gatherings.” If the governor increases the limit for churches, we may be able to gather together as soon as Mother’s Day on May 10th!

Gov. Hutchinson asked us to be praying for wisdom. He quoted James 1:5 which says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” He thanked us pastors for our willingness to implement the guidelines that have been set forth. He understands that we pastors will also be making some decisions as we reopen our churches. Please pray that God will guide the decision making of Gov. Hutchinson as well as the pastors of our church in the coming days!

We love you all! We miss you…and we look forward to being together again soon!

Fresh Word this morning:
I Timothy 6:20-21

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and OPPOSITIONS OF SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED:

21 Which some professing (they believe in science and not God) HAVE ERRED CONCERNING THE FAITH. Grace be with you. Amen.

Note: The idea that we as Christians reject science is totally false.

There's nothing in scripture that even hints that we should oppose science.

But, even 2,000 yrs ago when Paul wrote this to Timothy people were already FALSELY AND FOOLISHLY saying they were going to put their trust in science rather than God.

[04/29/20]   4-29-20

Fresh Word this morning:
John 13:35

35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, (how's that?) if you have love one to another.

Note: As Christians we need to love one another so much that the unbelievers can't help but notice!

[04/28/20]   Christmas fund: $198.00! 🙌

[04/28/20]   4-28-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Ecclesiastes 5:10

10 He that loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loves abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Note: Only the Lord can truly satisfy the soul of man.

[04/27/20]   4-27-20

Fresh Word this morning:
1 Corinthians 13:12

12 For now we see (God) through a glass, darkly; but then face to face (with God): now I know (God) in part; but then shall I know (God) even as also I am known (by God).

Note: We now have God's Holy Spirit within us which gives us a glimpse into the nature and character of the Lord.

When we meet the Lord face to face we shall see and know Him fully just as He already knows us fully.

Pretty amazing!

[04/26/20]   4-26-20

Fresh Word this morning:
2 Corinthians 13:5

5 Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except you be reprobates?

Note: Just like it's on us as a driver to make sure we aren't going 90 MPH in a 60 MPH speed zone ~

It is our responsibility every day to make sure we are following the Lord and doing His will.

[04/25/20]   Church service in the parking lot tomorrow starting at 11:00!

[04/25/20]   4-25-20

Fresh Word this morning:
James 1:2-8

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers (various) temptations (trials and troubles);

3 (why?) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works (produces) patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting (lacking) nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally (generously), and upbraids not (unbegrudgingly); and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

[04/24/20]   Fresh Word:
Matthew 6:24-34

(Times like these are the best times to do like Jesus said ~ trust Him to take care of us one day at a time ~ otherwise you will have no peace of mind)

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Note: A great testimony of this is found in ~
Psalms 37:25
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed (children) begging bread.

[04/24/20]   4-24-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Psalms 37:16-20

16 A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.

17 (why?) For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholds the righteous.

18 The Lord knows the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever.

19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

[04/23/20]   4-23-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Matthew 24:3-13
(these verses are just one example for believing the return of Jesus is close)

3 And as He (Jesus) sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, TAKE HEED THAT NO MAN DECEIVE YOU.

5 For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6 And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

[04/22/20]   4-22-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Lamentations 3:21-26

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness.

24 The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him.

26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Note: The Lord had mercy on us yesterday and His mercies are fresh again this morning!

[04/21/20]   Fresh Word
2 Chronicles 7:13-14

13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence (sickness/epidemic) among My people;

14 IF My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Note: "If" is such a little word that makes all the difference between life and death!

[04/21/20]   4-21-20

Fresh Word this morning:
I John 4:4-8

4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world hears them.

6 We are of God: he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears not us. Hereby know we the (Holy) Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.

8 He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.

[04/20/20]   4-20-20

Fresh Word this morning:
Psalm 43:5

5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

[04/19/20]   Fresh Word this evening:
I Corinthians 9:24-26

24 Know you not (don't you know) that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain (go for the gold!

25 And every man that strives for the mastery is temperate (self disciplined)in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible (temporary) crown; but we an incorruptible (remains forever).

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so I fight, not as one that beats the air (someone without a specific goal in mind)

Note: Paul was as determined to win the crown in ministry and soul winning as an Olympian is disciplined and determined to win the gold medal in an Olympic event.

He's instructing us to do the same.
