Recycled our Easter eggs and made baby birds in a nest. This was a great craft to get kids doing all the things they love (painting, cutting, gluing & coloring)!

Happy Mother’s Day!
We made a homemade lemon sugar scrub to make mom feel luxurious, complete with personalized labels.

Scrubs are so beneficial and this one is all natural so no harsh chemicals leaving your skin, smooth and polished.

With summer just around the corner we often have a build up of bug spray, sunscreen and well...sweat! Sugar is a wonderful exfoliant to get rid of those chemicals and your dead skin cells while the lemon adds nourishing vitamins and the coconut oil replenishes moisture back in.

Hope you enjoy!

Lemon Sugar Scrub
1 cup sugar
1/4 coconut oil
Juice from 1/2 a fresh lemon
Lemon zest
2-3 drops of good Lemon essential oil (optional)

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Norooz! Below is some history of this beautiful holiday.

Nowruz (pronounced no-rooz) is a combination of two Persian words. The first word β€œnow” means new and the second word β€œruz” means day; together they mean β€œNew Day.” Nowruz is the name for the celebrations that observe the New Year for many Persian and Central Asian communities. The exact beginning of the New Year occurs when the season changes from winter to spring on the vernal equinox, which usually happens on 20 or 21 March each year.

The festivities of Nowruz reflect the renewal of the Earth that occurs with the coming of spring. Activities that celebrate the arrival of Nowruz share many similarities with other spring festivals such as Easter.

Nowruz is a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the next. Children have a fourteen-day vacation from school, and most adults do not work during the Nowruz festivities. Throughout the holiday period friends and family gather at each other’s houses for meals and conversation. Preparing for Nowruz starts a few weeks prior to the New Year with a traditional spring cleaning of the home. At this time it is also customary to purchase new clothing for the family and new furniture for the home.

Haft-Seen Table: The Table of Seven S’s
The most important activity in the celebration of Nowruz is making the haft-seen table. Haft is the Persian word for the number seven and seen is the Persian word for the letter S. Literally, the haft-seen table means a β€œtable of seven things that start with the letter S’. Creating the haft-seen table is a family activity that begins by spreading a special family cloth on the table. Next the table is set with the seven S items. Here are some of the items and what they symbolize:

Sumac (crushed spice of berries): For the sunrise and the spice of life
Senjed (sweet dry fruit of the lotus tree): For love and affection
Serkeh (vinegar): For patience and age
Seeb (apples): For health and beauty
Sir (garlic): For good health
Samanu (wheat pudding): For fertility and the sweetness of life
Sabzeh (sprouted wheat grass): For rebirth and renewal.

Public pools are closed, but its important to know that a child can drown even in shallow water. Always remember to drain any pool/tub when not in use.

CNN and 'Sesame Street' to host a town hall addressing racism

A great way to help start the conversation at home with your little ones. As anger and heartbreak have swept across America over the killing of yet another black man at the hands of police, CNN and Sesame Street are refocusing their second town hall to address racism.

Such a fun idea for any kid!

Keep watching, there’s a car paint shop too πŸš™πŸš—. I’ve been wanting to make a makeup board for my girls for the longest time πŸ’„. I’ve seen them everywhere but noticed you could only paint them once. I covered the cardboard with tape and BAM, you can paint them over and over again🀩. It’s like giant erasable coloring pages! You can also clean up the areas you pained outside the lines. Makes it perfect for makeup corrections πŸ’‹πŸ˜‰. What would you draw for your little one?

-Black marker
-Clear packing tape
1️⃣Draw a large scale of any shape you want on the cardboard using a pen or pencil
2️⃣Once you are happy with the drawing, trace it using a black marker
3️⃣Cover the cardboard with a layer of clear packing tape. Align them perfectly so that there aren’t ant open cracks. Secure the tape on the backside of the board
4️⃣Use paint, markers, crayons, anything you want to color with and you can wipe it off using a baby wipe or water on a paper towel
