FREE GROUP COUNSELING FOR NEW YORKERS IMPACTED BY COVID-19. Coping Circles are available to all New Yorkers, ages 18 and older. Coping Circles are also available in different languages.
Sessions for Coping Circles will be held by video or phone and facilitated by licensed mental health professionals.
We encourage participation from healthcare workers, first responders, COVID-19 survivors, those who have lost loved ones to COVID-19, and those who have experienced COVID-19 related job loss. Specialized Coping Circles for these groups will be created pending demand and availability.
Coping Circles will be available throughout the summer through the end of August 2020.
New Yorkers interested in joining Coping Circles can register at NY.Gov/CopingCircles, a secure and HIPAA-compliant web platform.

Batavia schools free lunch information
The Summer Meals Program, or “Grab and Go” meal distribution for the summer months, will begin on Monday, June 29. Distribution will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9-11 a.m. at Jackson Primary and John Kennedy Intermediate Schools. The Jackson distribution site will be at the school’s Hutchins Street entrance; JK's will be in the main loop on Vine Street as it has been this spring. Each M-W-F distribution will include two days of breakfasts and two days of lunches for each child, age 18 and under. No enrollment is necessary, and there is no-cost for families.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Summer Meals Program is a federally-funded, state-administered program that was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

This week Wednesday, June 10, 2020, there will be a free food distribution by Food Link at the Bergen Evangelical Presbyterian Church from 3-5pm, until all the boxes are gone. It will be a drive through, and each car may pick up food for one family. Stay in your car and pop open your trunk – the food will be placed inside. This may include meat, dairy and produce as well as food staples. There is no registration required. They ask that there be no early birds, because there will be a large Food Link truck to maneuver in the parking lot, and much to unload in preparation for the food distribution.

Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension is pleased to share that free USDA farmers-to-families food boxes are available for the public on Friday May 29. This is a first come, first served opportunity and there are no pre-orders or deliveries available.
DISTRIBUTION WILL BEGIN AT 10 A.M. AND WILL END WHEN ALL 1,200 BOXES HAVE BEEN HANDED OUT. Anyone is welcome to come and pick up a box — this is not limited to families with children.
PICK UP IS AT THE Orleans County 4-H Fairgrounds at 12690 Rt. 31 in Albion. Please enter the fairgrounds using the Wood Road entrance on the east end of the grounds. For distribution we will be located in the pavilion where the stage is located. After pickup you will be able to leave by the exit on Rt 31 or Taylor Hill Road.
You will not need to leave your vehicle for drive through pickup, our staff and volunteers will load into your trunk for you. If you have questions please email [email protected] or call the Cooperative Extension at 585-798-4265 and leave a voice mail staff will monitor and respond.
