Good afternoon! The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is now accepting applications for scholarship opportunities for students who will be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, or Western Kentucky University AND who would be interested in working for KYTC after graduation; as well as students who will be attending KCTCS (Big Sandy Community & Technical College (BSCTC) & Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) AND who are also interested in working for KYTC after graduation.
If selected, the CE students will be eligible for stipends in the amount of $6,200/semester for the freshman & sophomore years and $6,600/semester for the junior & senior years. CET students will be eligible for stipends in the amount of $3,000/semester they are working to pursue their Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
All students chosen for the program will also have the opportunities for summer employment with KYTC, as well as any co-ops that their school may require.
*Note – this is a scholarship available for those interested in employment with state government in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet after graduation. It is not a scholarship that is offered as general financial assistance.

SCC and SOKY ECCA are both located in the Clinton College and Career Center, allowing students to complete their entire program at the Clinton College & Career Center. Students in the MNA to LPN pathway will complete the SCC LPN program within a year after their high school graduation! Building the workforce needed for our region, one student at a time.

We are so very blessed and thankful to all who came out to attend our College and Career Fair! Despite lots of circumstances out of everyone’s control, this turned out to be a great event for the students of our community.

We want to thank each and every vendor for donating their time to speak to and answer the questions of our students and their families. We also want to thank our students and families for participating in this event!! It is our hope students learned some new career opportunities available to them, as well as, made a connection with someone that can start them in the right direction toward their career or college pathway. Thank you to our teachers and faculty for supporting us and looking out for the future of our students!!

Congratulations to Clinton County Senior, Ethan Irwin, for winning the $100 Gift Card! Ethan currently has an “A” average in his Carpentry classes and is demonstrating outstanding work ethic this semester. Ethan completed the Industrial Maintenance Program and the NCCER Industry Certification as a Junior last school year. Currently, Ethan is enrolled in the Construction Carpentry Pathway. Clinton County School District

The CCHS Academic Team (grades 9-10) participated in their first virtual competition in the Section 8 JV Challenge on Saturday, November 8th at Clinton County High School. The team placed 2nd overall, 2nd in quick recall, and the following students placed in written assessment:

•Tyler Guffey (5th in Science and 4th in Social Studies)
•Loren Little (2nd in Composition and 2nd in Language Arts)
•Evan Little (4th in Science and 2nd in Arts & Humanities)
•Caleb Marcum (3rd in Science)

Evan Little also placed 7th overall in the state in Arts & Humanities! The entire academic team, grades 9-12, will compete in District Governor’s Cup competition on January 23rd.
