Help replace the robes!

Thank you to the Class of 1968 for their donation to the Aitkin Education Foundation! We are half-way to our $12,000 goal!

We would love to have the robes funded and purchased in time for the spring concert in May. Help us make that goal!

Thank you to ALL those who have donated! We appreciate your generosity and support!

messagemedia.co What is almost 70 years old and still in use at Aitkin High School?

[01/07/19]   The Aitkin Education Foundation is launching a fundraising campaign to replace the Aitkin High School concert choir’s performance robes.

Aitkin High School has a decades-long history of quality vocal music. Our students excel at their concerts, their spring music contests, and the annual musical each spring.

Please help the Aitkin Education Foundation in their effort to replace the choir robes which date back to the mid-1950s! They have been worn by generations of AHS students! Many repairs have been made to the robes over the years, but the age and condition of the material doesn’t allow for those repairs to continue.

Seventy-five (75) robes are needed at a cost of approximately $150 each, including a garment bag used for storage. Please consider supporting this project. Your donation will benefit students today, and for decades to come.

Checks should be made payable to AEF and can be mailed to AEF, 306 2nd St NW, Aitkin, MN 56431.

Donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you to community members who donated new and used children's and young adult books for classrooms.

[01/13/17]   If you have children who have outgrown books, consider donating them to the Aitkin Education Foundation. Books are one of the most requested items by teachers to the Aitkin Education Foundation as many teachers want to have book collections in their classrooms to supplement the times in which they are able to take the entire class to the school library. In order to help meet this need, the Foundation has been holding a Book Drive.

There are donation boxes at both schools as well as the local banks and credit union. Please consider going through your bookshelves finding any new or gently used children's and young adult books and donating them today. Boxes will be collected at noon on Thursday, January 19.

Note to parents with younger kids: books that are not chosen by teachers will be available for sale during conferences at Rippleside Elementary on January 19-20. For times of the conferences or more information about the Aitkin Education Foundation, visit isd1.org.

Boxes are out! We are now accepting donations of new and gently used children's books and young adult books.

Many teachers requested books for their classrooms and we were not able to grant near enough for our kids. We hope that you might have some great reads at your place that you no longer read and are willing to donate to help fill this need.

Guess who's hanging out in the AEF float for the Fishhouse Parade?
