[12/13/17] We are in the midst of our current STEAM challenges right before break and we could use some more supplies. If you have any milk caps, cardboard, foam, craft sticks, pom poms, straws, foil, or pipe cleaners you would like to recycle so we can use them, please send them to the Co-Laboratory for Mrs. Wonders! 1st graders from Mrs. Hague's class were making animals with various adaptations today using clay!
1/2 day of school = super quick specials! Today we had the Pom Pom Drop challenge. The students had to use gravity to get the pom pom through their tubes and into the container using the wall, index cards, and masking tape. We started with 2nd graders and built with each grade level. These were our final pieces.

Challenge Friday! Students were asked to build the tallest tower using 20 plastic 3 oz cups, 20 popsicle sticks, and 20 index cards.

2nd grade has been working on growing plants with 3 various types of water - fresh, salt, and sugar! There have been some interesting results. (Fresh has the blue tape, green is salt, and yellow is for sugar water.) Look at the differences!
