Church Service Thursday 5-14 ,5-17-2020

MLS seniors were absent from classes last Monday and Tuesday. The seniors still learned things, though, just in a different way. Seniors traveled to various churches and schools, some as far away as Florida and California. At those various places, seniors shadowed a pastor or teacher learning about the various day to day tasks of the ministry. The seniors also experienced a "Taste of Ministry" as they taught lessons, lead a devotion, coached a sports team, tutored a student, did a shut-in visit, or learned about sermon preparation. Pray that MLS' Taste of Ministry program once again encouraged seniors to consider the ministry. Give thanks for the many seniors it has encouraged over the years to continue studying for the ministry.

See the announcement below from MLS... We thank God for his faithful ministry and pray for him and the Koehler family. David Koehler served as pastor at St. Stephen from 2002-2010.

Dear Seminary Family,

Today, we are informing you about an important personnel update within our Michigan Lutheran Seminary family. David Koehler, our Dean of Students, has made the difficult decision to resign from his position for personal reasons.

He has been an integral part of our institution for 13 years, and his dedication and commitment to the students at MLS have left an indelible mark on our Seminary Family. Throughout his tenure, he has played a pivotal role in fostering a positive and gospel-centered environment, where students could thrive academically, spiritually, and emotionally.

While we respect David's decision and wish him all the best in his future endeavors, we want to assure you that his resignation will not disrupt the ongoing operations of Michigan Lutheran Seminary. The Call for nominations to fill this vacancy is currently being developed and will be posted soon.

With grateful hearts to God for David’s faithful service in the public ministry, and for the countless lives he has touched with his steady counsel and encouragement, we join in saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” We pray for God’s richest blessings to David and the Koehler family as they transition to their new home in Gladwin.
