Hi everyone! As you may know I have had an “interesting” 2023 so far which temporarily stopped piano lessons. I am currently recovering from a serious illness with extended family in Kentucky as I retrain my legs to walk again. I’ll need to be here for a few months.

However I am resuming teaching! I am offering online lessons using Zoom or Facetime. I started offering online lessons back in 2020, and was genuinely surprised at how well they work and how convenient they are for busy households.

If you are debating whether online is a good fit for your student, I am offering four free lessons to allow a chance to test the waters. I will make this available as long as I have openings.

I’m very excited to begin our journey together!!

In my many years of teaching piano, I have been seen many reasons for taking piano lessons, ranging from “I wanted to take lessons as a child and couldn’t” to “My son/daughter is obsessed with music” to “I want to be able to play at church.” Plus many more.

Here are some other reasons.

1. Piano lessons teach discipline.

2. They help a young student develop positive self esteem as a result of working steadily toward a goal and achieving it.

3. It has been shown that music lessons help students in their other studies for the above reasons, but also because it is excellent brain exercise because it uses both hemispheres of the brain at the same time.

Exciting update! I am now in my new home and studio and getting all settled in.

I’m on track to being ready to take my new South Georgia students as of the first week of November! My home studio is on S Hutchinson Ave, so I’m hoping that will be convenient for everyone.

As I think my “assistant” (aka my daughter) has mentioned, I am teaching my Memphis area students online still, but I have a few spots open for in person classes. I only do one-on-one lessons, so if this is something you’re thinking about shoot me a message and I’ll give you the details.

I knew I would like the Adel area but honestly I’ve been blown away by the kindness, generosity and welcome I have found here. It seems like everyone knows everyone — and I am looking forward to getting to know my new friends and neighbors here.

But most of all, I work hard to make sure my students enjoy the learning process!! We have a good time in our lessons, all the while learning a skill that will be with students for a lifetime.

I can teach all levels from beginners up to advanced, ages 6 to 106. I will be set up for either virtual or in person lessons. I am blessed that the majority of my students stayed with me during my move so time slots are still limited.
