2022
I’m sure many of you are setting aside time today to write down your resolutions for the coming year. May I make a few suggestions?
First, resolve to strengthen your spiritual foundation. This may involve setting a specific time and place to study the scriptures, praying more often, making temple worship a bigger priority, and letting God prevail in all aspects of your life.
Second, resolve to be kind to others. When the Savior Jesus Christ visited the Americas, as recorded in the Book of Mormon, one of the first things He taught was the need to eliminate contention in our lives. So, please be compassionate, be understanding, be slow to judge, and be quick to forgive.
Third, resolve to be resolute. The Lord loves effort. The Lord loves consistency. The Lord loves steadfastness. While we surely will come up short from time to time, our persistent efforts to hear Him and follow the inspiration He gives us will help us to “wax strong in the Spirit” (Mosiah 18:26).
May God bless you, my dear friends, and may this be a wonderful year of purpose and possibilities for all of us.
🚨 Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is creating a new mission in Africa. The Rwanda Kigali Mission will open in July 2022. It will be created from three existing missions: the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa East, Democratic Republic of the Congo Lubumbashi and Uganda Kampala Missions.
Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda and has the largest population of any city in the country. The Church currently has three branches in Rwanda.
A mission president and companion of the Rwanda Kigali Mission will be announced in January 2022.
This will be the 39th mission in Africa and the 409th worldwide.
"His law decrees that the only legitimate union of man and woman is between husband and wife. For, should that expression of love result in conception, marriage provides shelter for the child who enters mortality innocent and helpless. Marriage ensures security and happiness for parents as well"

It is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ...
If you and I are to withstand the forthcoming perils and pressures, it is imperative that we each have a firm spiritual foundation built upon the rock of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
So, I ask each of you, “How firm is your foundation? And what reinforcement to your testimony and understanding of the gospel is needed?”
The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ.
When renovations on the Salt Lake Temple are completed, there will be no safer place during an earthquake in the Salt Lake Valley than inside that temple.
Likewise, whenever any kind of upheaval occurs in your life, the safest place to be spiritually is living inside your temple covenants!
Please believe me when I say that when your spiritual foundation is built solidly upon Jesus Christ, you have no need to fear. As you are true to your covenants made in the temple, you will be strengthened by His power. Then, when spiritual earthquakes occur, you will be able to stand strong because your spiritual foundation is solid and immovable.
🚨🚨🚨
And today, we have had yet another historic moment!

Effective immediately, mission presidents, stake presidents, district presidents, bishops and branch presidents may officiate civil marriage only in the following circumstances:
At least one of the couple — either the bride or groom — is a member of the Church.
Either the bride’s or the groom’s membership record is assigned to the unit over which the Church officer presides.
