50th Anniversary of the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka

The Climax of the 50 years celebration will be 24th June 2013 The College was established in 1963 following the Arusha Manifesto,signed by the late president Julius K.Nyerere in 1961.The manifesto highlighted among other conservation commitments the need for trained manpower to protect and manage Africa's natural heritage.The College draws its mandate to provide training,research and consultancy services by the College of African wildlife Management Act No.8 of 1964.The College is a parastatal organization under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.It is registered and accredited with the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) in Tanzania and recognized center of excellence by the East African Community (EAC) and the southern African Development Community (SADC).
