On Thursday last week, the CHSS boys cricketers were presented with their new kit which they will use to play in the upcoming National playoffs, after winning the South East Zone SSCL games this season. National playoffs begin the 3rd week of next term.
We wish them good luck as they try to win a national title and gain promotion to the SSCL Championship Division.

Yesterday, six of our school's cricketers took part in a First Aid and CPR Responders course organised by the Rio Claro East Secondary School Form 6 P.E. students.

Our students represented us well and received certificates from the Ministry of National Security and Lifeguard Services.

Well done young men!

CHSS is proud to announce that our Crisis Management Team hosted a Safety Marshall’s training on Monday 4th, March 2024! This training was done to equip students to handle potential or possible hazards on the compound. A club will eventually be formed to provide an additional extra-curricular activity for the students. Three students from each class were nominated by their classmates to attend training. Presentations were done by Traffic Wardens, members of the Fire Service of Trinidad and Tobago (Mr Webb and Mr Woods), a Health Inspector (Ms Resa Baksh), a medical doctor (Dr Erron Ramdass) and a clinical psychologist from the Children’s Authority (Mrs Bannister).

The form 6 Physical Education students of CHSS planned and executed their community based CAPE Internal Assessment on Friday 8th March, 2024. The theme was "Active bodies, Healthy minds" Sports and Mental Health Caravan. Form 4 and 5 PE students of CHSS and students from five other neighbouring schools were hosted. Different stakeholders came and spoke to the students on aspects of mental health as well as there were games and an aerobic burnout session. Please enjoy the attached pictures taken during this successful event.

We would like to thank the teachers and staff that assisted the form 6 Physical Education students with the ex*****on of this event.

Scores for today's match:
Rio Claro West batting first made 48 ALL Out.
Narod Ramkissoon taking 5/22 in 5 overs and Mikel Maharaj taking 5/25 in 5.3 overs.

Cowen Hamilton Secondary School chasing made 53 / 5 with Isaiah Graham scoring 15 and Mikel Maharaj scoring 14.

Cowen will now represent the South East Zone at the National playoffs.

Congratulations to Mr. Charles on his hard work and mentoring these students!

Cowen batting first made:
304 for 3 wickets in 39 overs.
Jordan Julien scored 55
Isaiah Graham scored 52
Narod Ramkissoon scored 50 not out Matthew Sookdeo scored 68 not out

Mayaro in reply was all out for 55.
Mikel Maharaj took 5 wickets for 26 runs.
Arion Huggins took 3 wickets for 15 runs.
Aydin Ali took 2 wickets for 0 runs.

Cowen Hamilton Secondary School were victors in today's encounter.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students

This is a reminder that the school’s marathon is tomorrow, Friday 9th February, 2024 at 5:30 a.m. from Broomage #1 Junction, Princes Town to Cowen Hamilton Secondary School.

School will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. and any parent wishing his/her child/ward to leave the compound before this time must come and collect him/her personally. A form of National I.D. must be presented.

Adequate male and female Teacher Supervision, as well as Police Es**rt will be provided and every effort shall be made to ensure the safety of your child.

Cowen Hamilton Secondary School vs Guayaguare Secondary School

Cowen batting 1st:
225/5 in 31 overs.
Guayaguare bowled just 31 overs in the allotted time, hence instead of 50 overs, just 31 overs were possible.
Isaiah Graham - 41 runs
Jordan Julien - 30 and
Mikel Maharaj - 25, were our top scorers.

Guayaguare batting 2nd:
22 ALL OUT in 14 overs!
- Mikel Maharaj taking 5 wickets for 8 runs
- Narod Ramkissoon taking 3 wickets for 10 runs
- Giovanni McKnight taking 2 wickets for 2 runs.
