We were very fortunate to deliver basic Business Literacy sessions to the informal sector in the Handicrafts Industry in Vava’u & Ha’apai in the last 2 weeks ❤️

We may be adept in most things business, but we also expanded our understanding of the mechanics at work within this industry!

Thank you Access Media Network for using our services to provide video translation and subtitles for a series of videos requested by the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme (PALM), intended for the Seasonal Workers Program.

Through the PALM scheme, eligible businesses can recruit workers for seasonal jobs for up to 9 months or for longer-term roles for between one and 4 years in unskilled, low-skilled and semi-skilled positions.

The PALM scheme helps to fill labour gaps in rural and regional Australia and agriculture nationally by offering employers access to a pool of reliable, productive workers. It also allows Pacific and Timor-Leste workers to take up jobs in Australia, develop their skills and send income home to support their families and communities.

Wrapping up 2022 with thanksgiving in our hearts and getting ready for 2023 with nothing but praise🙏🏾. Praise for what we’ve been blessed with, and praise for things yet to come.

Another little project that we’ve been working on is the setting up of a fish trap (pā ika), and it’s now ✅ done!

Really stoked that we got to do this before Christmas, it gives us yet another reason to celebrate.

And with that, we bid you farewell for 2022. May you all have a blessed Christmas and an equally blessed 2023. May we celebrate the birth of our Saviour joyfully and safely ❤️

We also incorporate a little bit of corporate responsibility into what we do, in order to be socially accountable to the community we live in.

There has always been challenges in the water supply system in our village, mainly due to inappropriate infrastructure and further exacerbated by the rising costs of power & fuel. The total cost of making it right would take the village a long time to raise that kind of money.

We saw an opportunity for some funding, we applied, and we got it! Fervent prayers and a strong faith does wonders.

November came at us at full throttle!

We received our business cards, had Zoom sessions with John Hardin - MSME Development Expert, Tanner Chaiken - Project Team Leader for the ADB Pacific CBRP Project, and the National Business Advisors from Fiji, Solomon Islands & Cook Islands, and wrapped up the month with a visit from John Hardin to meet some of the businesses we hope to start working with on this particular project.

We're hoping to finish working with these businesses in the next couple of months, then we'll start on a new group of businesses.

We're very excited but humbled at the same time, to have the trust of these businesses. Thank you ADB for funding this project.

It's been a hot minute since we've posted, but there's a good reason for it. While we were in 'Eua delivering training to Creative Groups in the community, our house got broken into, and our computer & WiFi units were amongst the items taken.
All our work to date was in that computer, so we've had to start from scratch 😢

In the bigger scheme of things, we've also been blessed with some helping hands that have enabled us to replace these much-needed devices. Malo 'aupito 🙏💙

So, onwards & upwards we say👍

19th - 25th October
Delivery of MSME Business Training to approx 80 participants from Houma to Ha'atu'a, and all the villages in between.

The Training included guidance on some of the main areas in running a business - their product, financial literacy, costing & pricing their product, marketing, & customer service.

Thank you Ministry of Trade & Economic Development for this initiative ❤️
