Investigation is still underway following the last week fire on Maka Landfill. Reliable source from Waste Authority confirmed the suspect and will refer the to law enforcement agencies soon.
It is important for the public that this was a heinous act upon public health and safety during this long dry weather. Smoke and ashes released from a landfill mixed of leather, plastics, textiles and electronic wastes posed threats to the public especially the nearby communities. Related authorities should raise their level of preparedness to avoid any disaster of this kind in the future.
