Snow & Avalanche Science University Courses

Currently you can apply for 2 snow and avalanche science related university courses at Uni Wien and Uni Graz. Both feature the great excursion to Galtür, Ischgl and L**h am Arlberg from 3rd to 7th of April 2022!

Keeping distance to each other is a well-known safety strategy for avalanche safety and in Covid-19 pandemic times. So for Austrian Universities it was possible to run their field courses in snow and avalanche science 2021 with the necessary safety precautions. A big thanks from University Graz to the supporters from the ski resorts, Ski Arlberg, Pool West Skilifte L**h-Zürs, Silvretta Montafon Holding GmbH, Bergbahnen Silvretta Galtür. 2020 SFU Social Media and Avalanche Safety Study We are interested in better understanding the effect of social media on trip planning and avalanche safety decisions.

Also this year we have our applied course for snow and avalanche science at University Vienna within "Topics in Geodynamics" The famous excursion to Galtür, Ischgl and L**h am Arlberg takes place from 22.03.-26.03.2020 where we will do also 3D-mapping using laser scanning and SfM-Photogrammetry. the course is for master and PhD students, apply here:
