This luxury boutique hotel in Slovenia is the perfect destination for walking holidays in Europe and the beautiful foothills of the Julian Alps.
We have taken the deservedly popular concept of a luxury chalet holiday, as often enjoyed by winter sports enthusiasts, and adapted the idea for walking holidays. In brief, this means you stay in a grand old house, with truly personal service, luxury accommodation and superb food - in our view an essential part of any walking holiday! Each day you have an excellent breakfast, followed by the option of enjoying an accompanied walk (5 days a week). On your return you are served tea with homemade cake, and after a couple of hours to relax, (perhaps enjoying a dip in our huge jacuzzi), you are offered an aperitif and canapés, followed by a delicious 3 course dinner using mainly local ingredients, much grown organically ourselves in season. Quality wine is served free of charge during dinner, and you eat in true chalet tradition around one big table, which makes for a convivial and social evening. In addition, staying in one centre allows you to completely relax and unwind – no tedious packing and unpacking, no valuable holiday time wasted waiting for transport as we have our own air-conditioned minibus; no deadline to have to walk a certain distance to get to your next bed… instead you just leave everything to us, so you can relax and enjoy every minute of your holiday! The entire house is non-smoking, and we regret we do not accept children under the age of 14.

Fabulous autumn day to end our great summer season: 1172 km walked, 57650 meters climbed, 21 different walking trips. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made the year so enjoyable, we hope to welcome you back to Slovenia soon. Žana & Luka
Here's the view from Blegoš, the peak of one of our regular walking routes. This is a fairly long and quite challenging walk (approx 11mi/16km, 800m ascent), but very rewarding!
We leave directly from the hotel to walk to the highest of the Škofja Loka hills. The walk goes through lovely shady woods, then reaching the base of the hill there are two routes, a shorter, steeper way or an easier, longer route. As you leave the woods and walk above the tree line the views are stunning, culminating at the summit of this protected area where many wildflowers and butterflies can be seen, along with this breathtaking 360-degree views of the whole area.
Blegoš forms part of the Rupnik Line, which formed the fortified border between Italy and Slovenia between WW1 and WW2, and many of the old bunkers can be seen as we walk this route. Take a closer look at our regular walking routes here: http://bit.ly/2l9qeoy

We offer an all-inclusive week-long walking holiday package based at our award-winning hotel, Pri Lenart. Available dates run from Saturday to Saturday, with pick-up and drop-off at Ljubljana airport, or city centre, included in the price of your holiday, for more information take a look at what's included in your holiday package.
During your stay, we offer a range of guided walks in the beautiful countryside surrounding our hotel, as well as some further afield. You can choose to join us for guided walks, or take a route card and explore the surrounding area independently. Our guided walks usually last around 6-7 hours including stops for refreshments, picnic lunch, etc. Take a look at our walking routes for more information.
There is a free day during the week, Wednesday, when we don't offer a guided walk, but instead, provide time for other activities. Transport to the pretty Medieval town of Skofja Loka is included in the price of your holiday and you can spend a relaxing day visiting the town and its excellent ethnographical museum. From Skofja Loka you could also choose to catch one of the regular buses which run to Ljubljana, where you can explore Slovenia's tiny capital.
Alternative day trips are available by booking a taxi (at an extra cost) and there are many destinations to visit such as the lace and mercury museums in Idrija, Postonja Caves or the coast to name just a few. On a Wednesday evening, the hotel kitchen is closed and instead, we will drive you to a local organic farm to enjoy a truly authentic experience of a traditional Slovenian dinner made from all home-produced ingredients - this is included in the holiday price.
In addition to walking and exploring the local area, we can help to arrange many other guided activities from fishing experiences to e-mountain bike tours.
To enjoy the accompanied walks we recommend that you are comfortable walking in hilly areas at a steady pace for around 6-7 hours each day (including rest stops). Walks generally include up to 800 metres ascent which involves walking steadily uphill, sometimes for several hours - but the rewards are great in terms of views, and there is usually a mountain hut for rest and refreshments at the top of the longer ascents!
Generally, one ascent will take you to a flattish area where the views are spectacular, and from there the rest of the walk is quite level and then finishes with a descent. If you don't regularly do day walks in hilly terrain, please ensure you are fit enough to enjoy the walking programme by doing some aerobic exercise and hill walking prior to your holiday!
Please note we do not accept children under the age of 14 years, due to the nature of the hotel and the unsuitability of the walking for children. Please advise us before booking if you are over the age of 70 or if you have any health issues so we can discuss the suitability of the holiday for you.
