It really bothers me when I see DI FB S&C coaches post their grind workout & refer to this time of year as the grind mode. If you approach it that way what message are you sending the players? Their goal becomes to finish instead giving quality effort & working with intent & purpose. Training should never be a grind, everyday is an opportunity to get better for the coach & athlete. Remember words create images & images create action. Instead of grind talk about opportunities to get better to be in a position to be a champion in November. Champions don't grind they thrive!

Jonas Dodoo: The Benefits of Athlete Focused Training Methods

The only way you can coach a variety of athletes to be successful, is to instead of imparting your philosophy on them and telling them what you think they need based on your history, it’s to almost turn it around and figure out what they need based on their history.

You also need to wear plenty of different hats and look through different lenses to figure out what they need. And in order to do that you need to be athlete centred and the focus has to be on their goals, on their needs, on their strengths and weaknesses. It has to be all about them and empowering them to take control of their training.

It is a very different approach because it requires humility, patience and education. You really have to educate them to take control because my philosophy is, as coaches and when we’re writing training programs, it is all a guess.

TRUTH BOMBS... Lahko si je namisliti in se prepričati da imamo odgovor, da zadovoljimo poželenje ega po potrditvi 'znanja' in 'strokovnosti'... Toda prepoznavanje Resnice zahteva popolnoma drugačno - vseskozi pozorno vpraševanje in obravnavo.

Moje vabilo vsem je: Bodimo bolj pozorni in ne zadovoljujmo zgolj poželenja po potrjevanju lastne strokovnosti. Vsi (tudi sam) moramo BITI na to ves čas pozorni... Če smo iskreni in s srcem v tem kar počnemo, potem polovičarstvo nima tu kaj iskati.

TRUTH BOMBS... For it is easy to make up an answer to satisfy the ego's lust for the validation of it's 'knowledge' and 'expertise'... But to know the Truth - demands an entirely different, very attentive inquiry.

My invitation to everyone is: To BE more attentive, and not merely yield to our lust for the validation of our expertise. We (including myself) must be very mindful of this... If you are truly dedicated and honest in your efforts - then half-heartedness should have no place in your work.

ŠPRINT :: Mehanika; položaji (13.4.2016)

VADBA TEHNIČNE /MEHANSKE UČINKOVITOSTI V ŠPRINTU

*Aktivno 'prehitevanje' zamašnega kolena -> Prehod stopala po najkrajši (in s tem najhitrejši) poti -> Višje blokirano koleno in višji položaj stopala -> Daljša pot stopala na poti navzdol -> Omogočena večja izrazitev sile.

*Večja izrazitev sile (NAVPIČNO) -> omogoča boljše položaje.

- DRŽA (predvsem kontrola medeničnega nagiba) omogoča POLOŽAJ
- POLOŽAJ omogoča večjo IZRAZITEV SILE
- VEČJA IZRAZITEV SILE omogoča BOLJŠI POLOŽAJ

***So-odvisnost položajev z izrazitvijo sile.

Nekdo ki v osnovi ne zmore USTVARITI /IZRAZITI velike vertikalne (navpične) sile, ne zmore priti do tako močnih položajev (visoka kolena) kot nekdo ki je zmožen USTVARITI in IZRAZITI veliko vertikalne sile. Večja aplicirana vertikalna sila -> večja sila reakcije podlage -> močnejša refleksna kontrakcija kolčnih upogibalk -> boljši (višji) položaj (višje blokirano koleno).

- učinkovit in poln (dokoncan) IZTEG V KOLKU (sunek iz boka - proti obzorju)
- poln (dokoncan) IZTEG V SKOČNEM SKLEPU (gležnju)

- učinkovito postavljanje stopala -> 'pred-aktivacija' stopala (upogib v gležnju pred postavitvijo stopala) in učinkovita inverzno-refleksna iztegnitev (refleks na raztezanje) v SKOČNEM SKLEPU

Izvrstne vaje, ki služijo kot orodja za razvoj teh sposobnosti:

*Met medicinke: met nad glavo; met nazaj (učenje zaporedja iztegnitve ter polnega iztega v kolku in gležnju)
*KB Snatch (učenje zaporedja iztegnitve, hitre absorbcije sile in amortizacije)
*Sonožni poskoki 'NA ODBOJ': na mestu; horizontalno (učenje refleksne iztegnitve z učinkovito predaktivacijo)

Vaje bodo v kratkem predstavljene v videu, z vsemi bistvenimi namigi za učinkovito izvedbo.
