THIEP moves to new training facility

In time for the opening of the new academic year 2017-2018, the Technical Higher Institute for Engineering and Petroleum moved to its newly constructed training facility which houses classrooms, admin offices, auditorium and other student amenities that will cater the needs of trainees. Occupying a total land area of 25,000 square meters, the new training facility consists of one four-level main building for the diploma programs and two workshops for the vocational training courses.

There are four new laboratories for the diploma programs which houses the soil and concrete laboratory and the NDT simulation/dark room. The two workshops are equipped with fume extractor system, welding booths, scaffolding training area, pipe fitting benches and medical clinic. A parking area that has a capacity of 1000 cars at time is provided along with free space for landscaping and future expansions.
The facility is designed following ARAMCO requirements and NCCER standards.

THIEP hosts NCCER Master Trainer Instructor Certification Training Program

As part of its application to become an Accredited Training Sponsor (ATS) of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), Hajr Group hosted the Master Trainer Instructor Certification Training Program (MTICTP) at THIEP training facilities on September 11-14, 2017. MTICTP is four-day training program provided by NCCER to certify individuals approved by an ATS to become Master Trainers.

THIEP Launches the "Global English for Engineering and Petroleum Industry" Program with University of Wollongong College Australia.

The Technical Higher Institute for Engineering and Petroleum entered into partnership with the University of Wollongong College Australia to level up THIEP's English Language Institute. The partnership agreement was signed by Engr. Mustafa T. Alghazal, THIEP's General Manager and Ms. Heather Thomas, English Language Center Manager of UOWC, last August 3, 2017 at UOW Dubai Branch.Mr. Peter Linford, Vice-President for Nasser S Al Hajri (NSH) and Engr. Tafiq T. Alghazal, CEO of HAJR Group of Companies witnessed the signing ceremony.

The program "Global English for the Engineering and Petroleum Industry" aims to provide personnel in the Engineering and Petroleum industry the opportunity to learn English within their professional life. It provides trainees with a functional knowledge of English language required in an international workplace and provides a foundation for those wishing to develop their careers by pursuing further studies. After completing preparatory English, trainees may further their workplace training by completing a technical diploma or vocational course. This program also prepares students wishing to progress to more formal academic study by providing a pathway to university studies at a local or international university.
