Lukas Graham - Mama Said [Official Music Video]

‘When mama said that it was okay
Mama said that it was quite alright
Our kind of people had a bed for the night
And it was okay
Mama told us we are good kids
And daddy told us never listen to the ones
Pointing nasty fingers and making fun
'Cause we were good kids’

How to Speak Fluent English – A Comprehensive Guide? 07/09/2021

How to Speak Fluent English – A Comprehensive Guide?

Please read - "How to Speak Fluent English":
1. Overcome - Fear of making mistakes
2. Have you grown too comfortable in your work? - “With better communication skills, I can possibly aim for better opportunities.”
3. Create an immersive environment - Key is regularity – doing every day for some time.
4. Speak, speak, and speak in English - Speak with others / Speak alone
5. Think in English
6. Get plenty of comprehensible inputs, especially listening - Pronunciation / Intonation, stress, and pause
7. Read out loud
11. Are you attentive in practice?
More reading, more grammar doesn’t translate into better speaking

How to Speak Fluent English – A Comprehensive Guide? ‘Despite years of trying, I’m not able to speak fluently in English.’ ‘I first think in my native language, then translate into English, and then speak.’ ‘I often get stuck while speaking, because I struggle for the right words.’ ‘I can read and listen almost anything, but I’m aver...

Scientists explain why you're having such a tough time learning a new language

Please read.

(...) Brain cell activity can be divided into two categories -- plasticity and stability. Plasticity refers to the brain's ability to change. Stability is the opposite; it allows the brain to hold on to things we've already learned, to make those connections stick.

Younger children have a high level of "neural plasticity." But as we get older, the brain's ability to make new connections naturally decreases.

"The brain starts to prioritize stability." "We basically want to hang on to the important stuff that we've spent the last decade or more learning."

When learning a new language, humans rely on plasticity. That's why kids can often pick up multiple languages with little effort, while adults tend to struggle to get a few Duolingo lessons down.

Our brains are more likely to pick up familiar sounds, another reason surrounding ourselves with a language is often more effective than formal lessons.

"The best way to learn a new language, whether you're a kid or an adult, is to be immersed in it," Leonard said, "to be around native speakers as much as possible."

But when things get tough, the key is to remain motivated. (...)

Scientists explain why you're having such a tough time learning a new language And the reason children actually have a biological advantage.

Acabei de ler o livro, aconselho-o. E aqui vão umas dicas.
- Your goals must be SMART: Specific + Measurable + Attainable/Achievable + Relevant/Realistic + Time-based/Time-bound
- Cramping (all) the English knowledge into one or two days will not give you ‘all the English knowledge’ you need/want; it’s a daily process
- You should never translate, think in English; use the words you know/have in English to say what you want, but never translate from your native language
- Pronunciation: 1) train the muscles. There are sounds specific of each language, when you learn new sounds, you need to train your muscles; 2) reading aloud will help you practice your pronunciation
