The Raya School is a progressive school dedicated to helping your children discover themselves, their roots and the world around them.

The name ‘raya’ comes from the Malay word ‘rajah,’ which connotes nobility. The Raya Preschool curriculum covers themes and topics relevant to the child's life. Through these themes and topics, the child develops and eventually masters competencies in Math, Science, English, Filipino and the Arts. Singapore Math is the approach used in teaching the children numeracy skills. Raya Elementary student

To be an effective teacher, one must also be a lifelong learner.

In our next note on progressive education, Teacher Nanette Masanque shares how The Raya School has embraced lesson study, a practice that brings teachers together to plan, observe, and reflect on a carefully designed lesson. We've collaborated across levels and subjects, learning from one another and from experts in the field. Through this process, teachers are able to refine lessons, engage in deep reflection, and grow together for the benefit of our students. 🧡💙

Ngayon, higit sa lahat ng araw, dapat ipagpasalamat ang kasarinlan at kalayaang ipinaglaban ng mga bayaning Filipino.

For Teacher Andrea Lucas, literature is more than just language—it’s a powerful way for children to make sense of the world and their place in it. In her reflection on progressive education, she shares how stories help students develop empathy, think critically, and challenge the narratives that shape society. A meaningful education, she believes, doesn’t just teach students to understand reality—it empowers them to imagine and build a better one.

Huminto. Huminga. Huminahon.

Para sa susunod na tala sa progresibong edukasyon, ibinabahagi ni T. Eds M. Querubin na sa gitna ng mabilis na takbo ng araw, mahalaga ang pagninilay—upang madama, maunawaan, at bigyang-halaga ang ating karanasan. Dapat tinuturuang kilalanin ng mga bata ang kanilang damdamin at iniisip—dahil sa pag-unawa sa sarili, nagsisimula ang mas makabuluhang pagkatuto. 💙🧡
