At the onset of the new school year, another set of student government leaders in the elementary and secondary levels will be proclaimed via elections, and soon be trained as they unleash their leadership skills along their one year to lead.

The Youth Formation of SDO 1 Pangasinan announces the STUDENT GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS this year.

Suggested Dates:

13-30 September - Homeroom Class Organization

04-17 October - School-based

22-27 October - District/Division Federation

13 November - National Federation

For inquiries, refer to OUA Memo 00-0821-0140 Interim Guidelines on Student Government Elections for School Year 2021-2022 under the New Normal.

Student-led organizations such as Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) and Youth for Environment - Organization (YES-O), and other School Clubs may adopt the Policy Guidelines on School-based Elections as reference in conducting their organizational elections.

| The Schools Division Office (SDO) 1 Pangasinan has harvested 8 out of the 16 Gawad Siklab 2021 regional awards adjudged by the DepEd Regional Office 1.

The eight winners from Pangasinan 1 are finalists of the Gawad Siklab national search this year.

The eight categories won by the SDO 1 Pangasinan include:

1. Supreme Student Government (SSG) Best Implementer - Sual NHS

2. Most Outstanding SSG Student Leader - Bienesto Fidel A. Junio, Bayambang NHS

3. Most Outstanding SSG Teacher-Adviser- Dexter Sabangan, Labrador NHS

4. Most Outstanding Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Program Implementation, Sual NHS

5. Most Outstanding BKD Student Leader - Giana Ranielle M. Tiangson, Sual NHS

6. Most Outstanding BKD Teacher-Adviser - Daniel C. Galzote, Sual NHS

7. School Head Recognition - BKD Program Implementation - Carina C. Untalasco, Sual NHS

8. Most Active Social Media Award - SDO 1 Pangasinan DepEd Tayo - Youth Formation FB Page (Jane S. Burguillos, PDO 1 - Youth Formation Coordinator - Focal Person)

The feat was relayed to the SDO 1 Pangasinan through a regional memorandum received by the Youth Formation under the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit of the School Governance and Operations Division.

| On March 6, 1965, Presidential Proclamation No. 374 was issued declaring May 28 as National Flag Day to commemorate the date the national emblem was first unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated the Spanish fores in the Battle at Alapan, Imus, Cavite in 1898. On May 23, 1994, Executive Order No. 179 was issued extending the period of celebrating National Flag Day from May 28 to June 12. All Filipinos are encouraged to display the Philippine flag in all offices, agencies and instruments of government, business establishments, schools, and private homes throughout this period.

As part of this national observance, the Youth Formation of SDO 1 Pangasinan, in partnership with the Division Federated SSG, and Division Federated SPG, launches the initiative wherein learners of the SDO 1 Pangasinan are encouraged to display the Philippine flag in their homes.

Isang siglo na ang nakalilipas nang maitatag ang Pambansang Mataas na Paaralan ng Pangasinan at ang Gabaldon buildings na nakatindig sa loob ay mistulang tahimik na nagmamasid sa istorya ng paaralan.Nasilayan nito ang iba’t ibang mga mahahalagang pangyayari sa ating kasaysayan tulad ng World War II.

Ayon sa mga mananalaysay ang mga gusaling ito ay may makabagong disensyo na nilahukan ng mga elementong mula sa bahay kubo at bahay na bato na tanyag sa mga lalawigan noong panahong iyon. Ang mga Gabaldons ay pinataasan ng mahigit isang metro na gawa sa kahoy o semento. Ang mga gusali ay mayroong mga malalaking bintana na gawa sa kapis at matataas na kisame para sa maaliwalas na silid aralan.

Binigyan ng mandato ng batas ang mga lokal na gobyerno na ihanay ang mga hakbang sa pagbibigay ng proteksyon at pangangalaga sa mga Gabaldons sa ilalim ng kanilang nasasakupan. Kung kaya’t ang mga banyo sa loob ng silid-aralan ay inalis upang mapanatili ang makasaysayang karangalan ng North at South Gabaldons ng Pambasang Mataas na Paaralan ng Pangasinan

| All 549 elementary, and 142 secondary schools in 31 schools districts under the Schools Division Office 1 Pangasinan have now created their respective DepEd Tayo - Youth Formation FB pages in compliance with Memorandum No. 00-1220-0125 released by the DepEd Office of the Undersecretary for Administration.

The move intends to establish a social media network and intensify awareness on the information, announcements, and implementation of various programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) of the Bureau of Learner Support Services – Youth Formation Division (BLSS-YFD), thus said office recommends the creation of Regional, Division, and School DepEd Tayo – Youth Formation page accounts.

The DepEd Tayo - Youth Formation FB page shall serve as the main FB page of the school intended for the information gathering and dissemination of Youth Formation PPAs of the school to include the SPG/SSG, Youth for Environment in Schools (YES-O), and Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD).
