Let us not forget that we are Filipinos, let us be informed and show our patriotism towards our country. As students of this nation we have rights to fight for what is ours and that includes the WEST PHILIPPINE SEA.

The West Philippine Sea, a region rich in natural resources and strategic importance, is a hotspot for territorial disputes between China and the Philippines. The Philippines asserts its rights based on the UNCLOS, which grants it an exclusive economic zone extending 200 nautical miles from its shores. China claims nearly the entire South China Sea through the "Nine-Dash Line," a demarcation based on historical assertions. In 2013, the Philippines filed a case against China at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, which was invalidated in 2016. However, China rejected the ruling, maintaining its presence and activities in the disputed areas. The standoff has led to diplomatic protests from the Philippines and incidents involving Chinese coast guard and fishing vessels. The human cost of the conflict is underscored by individuals like Jeffrey Facundo, a Filipino soldier who lost his thumb in a skirmish. Despite international support for the rule of law, the dispute remains unresolved. The future of the West Philippine Sea dispute will likely depend on a delicate balance of legal, diplomatic, and strategic efforts.
Never fear the greedy and continue to support on what is right, believe only in facts and support with kindness within, pray for what is rightfully ours and someday freedom will be achieved.
