The Research Management Office (RMO) is a leading arm for research production, presentation, publication, and utilization under the PUP Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Development (OVPREPD).

This year's Research and Development Caravan (Lakbay-Saliksik) dubbed "SALIKBAY 2024" aims to present the University Research Targets for 2024-2028, revised research guidelines, and innovative project proposals for PUP campuses to help them achieve the research targets assigned to them. This activity also aims to strengthen collaboration among campuses in terms of research production, presentation, and publication. RMO is grateful for the support of the VPRED Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, Prof. Pasucalito B. Gatan, and to PUP Campus Directors to make this activity a success.
SALIKBAY 2024 started this June 2024 and will end on August 2024.
Activity: RMO College Hopping
Selected colleges in the university were visited by the OVPRED Research Management Office from January to April to discuss the University Research Targets for 2024-2028. RMO also shared the Research Capability Building Activities (RCBAs) offered to the faculty of the colleges to help achieve the research targets assigned to them.
VPRED Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin and RMO Director Dr. Jackie D. Urrutia headed the said activity. The research guidelines of the university were also discussed during the visits to the College of Communication, College of Law, College of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment, College of Science, College of Accountancy and Finance, College of Business Administration, College of Engineering, College of Education, College of Political Science and Public Administration, Open University System, and Institute of Technology.
Selected faculty members from different colleges attended the Executive Course in Writing of Systematic Literature Review for Publication organized by the RMO last April 3-5, 2024 at the DAP Conference Center, Tagaytay City.
RMO will visit the other colleges and campuses within the year for the same endeavor.
IN PHOTOS: Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) conducted at Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) with PUP RMO University Research Ethics Center Team (Chief Jackson Jake U. Llames, Chief Hazel DR. Samala, and RMCC Jedidia Eunice Peña) as Resource Speakers.
The BRET of BPSU-Peninsulares Research Ethics Committee (PREC) was held last May 23 to 24, 2024 at Balanga City, Bataan. The training which was approved and evaluated by the DOST Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) aimed to emphasize the importance of research ethics review in academic institutions and sought to equip the members of the ethics committee in reviewing research proposals.
BPSU University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag and Vice President for Research, Extension, and Technology Transfer Prof. Monica Tanchiatco-Hipolito graced the event with their presence.

ACTIVITY: Executive Course on Writing of Systematic Literature Review for Publication
40 participants composed of PUP Deans, Directors, Faculty Members, and Researchers attended the first of the executive courses in research writing dubbed "Executive Course on Writing of Systematic Literature Review for Publication" last April 3-5, 2024, at the Development Academy of the Philippines Conference Center, Tagaytay City. The activity aimed to enhance the participants' systematic literature review and structural equation modeling skills promote collaboration and networking among faculty, and empower them for greater professional success.
The participants were grouped according to their field of specialization and were able to complete the 3-day executive course with their Meta-Analysis Research Proposals.
The event was spearheaded by the PUP-RMO, DAP sa Mindanao (DSM), and the pool of outstanding resource speakers for each group: Dr. Jessie Barrot (Education), Dr. Edgar Allan Mendoza (Business Administration), Ms. Eylla Laire Gutierrez (Accountancy and Finance), and Engr. Christabel Jane Rubio (Engineering).

With that, the PUP Sentral na Konseho ng Mag-aaral, together with the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services and the Office of Student Services, in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Development, the Research Management Office, and the Office of the Student Regent, is CALLING FOR PARTICIPANTS TO JOIN US!
The Research Congress Review Committee is open to receiving papers that address a variety of topics from the seven (7) strands identified by the organizing committee.
Authors of articles that have been accepted may be asked to present their work, receive pertinent input from peers, and have an opportunity to improve the research output. Everyone is welcome to submit paper proposals, and the conference is open to bona fide PUP students.

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning and Development, in conjunction with the Research Management Office, Research Institutes, Research Centers, and Extension Management Office, will hold its Research and Extension (R&E) Summit on June 21 – 23, 2023. The R&E Summit will bring together Deans, Directors, Associate Deans/Assistant Directors, Program Chairs, and Senior Faculty/Academic Researchers to share insights, exchange ideas, and participate in critical conversation concerning ways to transform and address the Sintang Paaralan’s previous research and extension undertakings and plans.
Further, the R&E Summit intends to restructure research development strategies that will guide the PUP in transitioning from a teaching university to a highly intensive research university through futures thinking and foresight towards becoming a National Polytechnic University.
The NEMESIO PRUDENTE INTERNATIONAL POLICY RESEARCH CONFERENCE aims to ensure that the policies enacted and new policies formed meet the needs of the people, the academe can provide evidence repositories, clear articulation of research problem, and suggest priority researches for government funding. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) effort on working towards a truly global movement for fostering a culture of peace and non-violence worldwide and global initiatives for promoting peace. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG #16) about promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all, and building effective, accountative, and inclusive institutions at all levels. People everywhere should be free of fear from all forms of violence and feel safe as they go about their lives whatever their ethnicity, faith, or sexual orientation.
